Then she looks at her tiny clay covered fingers and tries to count... yup, three is too big a number

"Here you go," Gwen returns "Eighty bucks"

"Look what Citrine did!"

She looks where directed, "The runty little frog? "

"It's miniature!"

"It doesn't QUITE look like a fruit" SHe points out

"Nah. But Citrine."

"Nevers don't usually... they don't make things."

"That's true" Gwen admits, and nods to Citrine "She's right, Citrine, congratulations on showing some reall...."

Citrine is already playing tag with a laser pointer light Madern has out

"..discipline" Gwen finishes with a sigh

"Nevers gonna Never."

"Honestly I worry someone meaner than me is going to guide her into a furnace" Ernie admits "Fun though"

She wavers her hand. "They do have an uncanny lucky streak."

"You know those cartoons with the baby and the guard dog?"

Gwen's brow knits "Buttons from Animaniacs?"

"Yeah. Nevers are Mindy."

Gwen smirks at some thought, but says nothing more on that.

Ernie chuckles "Well, they're also adorable, at least the ones around here are. "

Snort. "They're all pains in the ass."

"Like herding flying glow in the dark kittens" Gwen agrees

"Something like that."

Now, more than one NEver is chasing after the laser dot... they surge on the wall spot, like a Rugby scrum!

And Ernie turns off the device. So when they finally clear, it's gone!

Brick gives a faux 'kick the grass in frustration' gesture that looks a lot like Gwen on the Lacrosse field when she missed a score

Gwen says "Huh" Totally missing it herself, of course

Ernie arches a brow and hides a smile.

"What's so funny?" Gwen gets suspicious

"Nothing" Madern says, since this isn't one of those GWYDION trolls

Handwave. "Idjits."

Gwen shrugs "Yeah, Brick's acting like a goof all right"

Behind Gwen, Madern tries HARD not to laugh

ANd a voice calls out "Who wants to wash their hands and help me get rid of this apple cinnamon cake?"

"I know I'm there, Mom!" Gwen calls out, then looks at the others "You guys do not want to miss this"

"Oh, that sword to fall on!" A dramatic hand to her forehead, and she follows.

"Oh don't throw me in that briar patch" Madern follows

And the three will soon, after hands are washed and such, be joining the quest to vanquish the Apple Cinnamon cake!
