His voice is steady, but a twinkle in his eyes.

"They ARE kind of tempermental" Deadpan

"Feh!"

"Just because Bluebell has an artistic temperament, honestly."

"Oh yeah, totally Bluebell" Madern gives Art a knowing nod

"Hmm? Oh, yes."

"I have been thinking over the quest at hand. At first, I wondered if it was wise to appoint young Briar as the point on this hunt, as it is not the typical quarry for a harrier of fang and fist. The more I think of it, though, I wonder if Lady Nadeen wasn't wiser than anyone else could foresee."

"Oh?"

"Hmm, what do you mean?"

"Well, it gives the childling experience in organizing, to an extent, while knowing that those she choses will work with her to ensure that the quest does not fail. And while the quarry is certainly not harmless, it is not something like, say, a dragon or a griffon, that Briar might dash directly into combat with and risk life and limb. It requires planning, AND is perhaps not conventionally dangerous."

"Then again, I could be completely wrong, and it may have more corporeal qualities that foreseen and simply swallow us whole."

He taps a finger on his book thoughtfully.

"I would prefer not to be swallowed, thank you."

Sounding intrigued, not worried or pessimistic.

"There IS that tale of the redcap who was swallowed by a dragon only to eat it's heart and escape thusly."

"Glad I'm not in on this one I think" Madern shakes his head

"An incendiary, if swallowed, may well have a similar effect with less chance of direct bodily harm."

"There was a documentary about a weather phenomenon - a massive air twister water spout that had drawn up sea beasts within the gusts. It was defeated with some sort of explosive device, if I remember correctly."

Madern stops "Wait... do .. do you mean Sharknado?"

"Ah, yes. I was very impressed by the bravery of the film crew."

Snickering.

"What?" He glances at Thistle, perplexed.

"You tell him" Ernie tells Thistle

"I'm not saying it wouldn't work."

"But Art, remember the 'historical documents' from when we watched Galaxy Quest, right?"

"So. It could work, chimerically."

"That was different. Clearly those were models. This was... " He gesticulates widely. "An entire phenomena of weather. You cannot mock THAT up with... a squirt gun and a tiny block city!"

He latches on, "It could work! "

"Though, where would we find explosives at this time of year?"

A grin, even ART cannot have missed the giant billboards on every stretch of the highway.

Thistle's eyes sparkle.

"I wonder if this fight has any discretionary funds...."

"Well, -I- heard that the entire town fireworks display was being put on hold because of the weather. They have to be storing those supplies somewhere."

A pause "uhm... yeah, some of them are there just for the talking... I mean, who knows who might uhm... just want to collect a few"

"But first, did we not have a steel mill to explore?"

says the piskie who has sticky fingers

"We do!"

"Unless you would rather look at the supplies? I saw a flyer that the fireworks were being planned by City Council to be held over at one of the larger riverside parks... at least until they announced the delay."

"Or we could do both, or delegate."

"We had best speak to Briar though, or she may feel that there is an insurrection."

"Wait till you see the T shirts" Madern says
