"Let me check" A voice as if someone stuck a head in a hole "THISTLE? YOU DOWN THERE???"

A long pause then "Nope. She's not here. Sorry, Squire. "

"I'll keep looking. Thank you." He retreats from the garage, shaking his head to try to clear the ringing.

He heads over to the aerie. "Blossom, are you in?"

"Actually I'm out" As he starts to approach it "over here."

There she is, a falcon on her glove

He heads over to her. "I am sorry, I know you are working to prepare for the event. I was just wondering if Thistle had been out this way?"

"The only time she comes to me is if she thinks I'm hunting Nevers" Thistle shrugs "Her loss as I am quite the amazing person"

"I am sure she will soon learn to appreciate your other qualities." He says politely. Then, at a thought, "Do you have any shed feathers I might take? The long ones from wings or tails?"

"Well, yes. I do. collect them for decorations and such. Follow me" She motions him to go into the ayrie after all

He follows after her. "Lord Aiden requested for custom medallions to be made for the winners in each contest. I think Thistle could use these to help design a mold for the falconry awards."

"Excellent idea" she says and puts her falcon away, then trots over to what looks like a fold out closet

"I did bring something for you as well."

He offers a long, thin packet.

"Oh?" She has opened the display, and in various slots, carefully marked, are feathers of all sorts. Hawk, Falcon, even owl and eagle and...

well there's some grouse feathers too

He nods towards those. "I felt bad about that bird I didn't set Aura on. These are for you, as thanks for teaching me as well."

The packet when opened holds feathers, but ones unlike any worn by members of this building - at least a foot long each, and iridescent blue-gold-green peacock feathers.

"They are from the local craft store - it seems that peacocks shed them naturally twice a year."

"They do" SHe says but gasps "They're LOVELY. Like Hera's vengeance waiting to destroy someone"

"I was only able to get a dozen - they are a bit expensive." He apologizes.

"Oh no this is... " She beams "I'll probably use them for Samhain! THANK YOU"

"Please, take any of those feathers you like" She gestures to the collection she's shown then stops "But not that one. " Pointing to one not so much stored as framed

"It was the first falcon feather Dame Calanthe ever gave me"

"Of course. That would have special meaning." He nods, and takes a small handful of larger eagle and hawk feathers. "I should be able to bring back any we don't use. Thank you!"

Thoughtful, "Is it a custom to dress in costume for the holiday here, or are you going out sweet-begging with the children?" Curious. "I may be given the chore myself this year - though minding Gawain is not truly a chore."

"Oh Samhain is very important! More so than Halloween though I do LIKE trick or treat. The baron can explain it better, but its the time when the Unseelie half of the year really begins. You get to watch normally seelie folks start to slide and they get so embarrassed about it. Of course ,most folks forget what happened at least details so that's a bummer. Also supposed to be THE best night for omens and stuff. "
