Ivan is well grown enough to start patrols along the trods, though he should not go unaccompanied until he is more well blooded with the types of creatures that may harrass travelers there." He considers aloud.

"Oh agreed. We're not engaging in dog fighting and anyoone who takes part in such will find themselves thrown out by the thane or knight of your choice, my love" A delicate snort , then she ponders "I think she might enjoy the hunting trials. Ivan has traveled trods with her before, to Earth runes at least once, but I know not how much of that was educational"

"Apparently Glass is our great hope for tracking contest?"

"It will be a good chance for Briar to show if she has taken her training seriously."

"I suspect her indiscretions have served as training somewhat" A nod then she looks over some of the papers "It would appear we have a Landless Baroness, i don't recognize the name but she appears to be local enough. She apparently has German shepherds? Not the overly sloped sort you see in the AKC registry either. She would like permision to demonstrate Seeing Eye skils?"

He considers for a moment, then shakes his head. "I am not familiar - I admit, recovering Dame Gladiola has freed me to work more with the horses."

"I feel like I'm missing something. i wondered if she might be Liam, she didn't mention her house."

"And fortunately you still keep our kennelmistress somewhat in check, else there would be puppies too many to handle and Mischka's mood would grow sour"

"Seeing Eye Dogs. Mm. Sounds like the work of a Liam." Not disapproving, quite, just noticing. He laughs at this jest. "Indeed."

"It does. I see no harm in it, but the animals are your forte "

"Schutzhund would be preferable to truly showcase an Alsatian's power, but it costs us little to be magnanimous in this regard. We shall allow the showcase."

"After all, I have had good luck in welcoming unlanded Baronesses, in the past." He says, eyes sparkling a bit.

A delicate blush, "It goes without saying you'll not have that particular form of luck again THIS visit." A hand playfully posessive upon his, "As for Schutzhund, did you approve that for all breeds ? Gladiola again"

"It tests tracking, obedience, and protection." He nods approvingly, "All of which our Mountain dogs should show in spades. It was developed in the early 1900s for testing suitability for Alsatians... and became the model for them as well as Boxers, Dobermann, Rottweilers, and Riesenschnauzers. Today, any breed can technically participate.

Perhaps..." He considers, and smiles a little. "Yes. I would approve such a thing."

"Good," She sorts through "Now here's one you might like a lot. A visitor with Geniune Arabians, apparently one Mr Tibbs met this fellow on his travels. The fellow is coming all the way from the middle east. He sent pictures of his horses' she shows him

"Oh, my." He admires. A distant look for a moment, wistful.

"I do believe this fellow may serve in the court of ...what are they called, the Oba? Our Eshu near peers? That could be grand and..." A look at him "Oh that wistful look. The golden horses, you're thinking of them again"

"It is no matter." He squeezes her hand. "Whether they run in my dreams, or in my waking dreams, still, they bring me joy. Perhaps someday. Were I younger..." He laughs a bit, and lets that thought trail off. "I have no regrets."

"Younger? You are no old man, my love, of your virility and energy I may attest." SHe looks at him "Maybe this visitor will know more stories of them? PErhaps that's why Tibs mentioned you to him? "

"Well, perhaps no greybeard yet, but I am well settled, and have not quested in many a year." he nods agreeably. "I would welcome such tales."

A thoughtful look, then "Would you like to? " A beat "Quest, I mean?"

"If a great enough prize were at stake? Perhaps. But I can think of no greater prize than that which awaits me at home." He gazes at her with a smile.

However, clearly, there is a seed of thought still considering this. Mm.
