A knock on Willy's shop

"Willy!" Dee calls out and knocks again

Stomping, and the door flings open. "What?"

"Horse threw a shoe" Dee says and gestures to her horse

Cussing under her breath, Willy steps out to look.

The shoe did not come off clean. The horse, well trained, holds it's hoof up to avoid injury but may tire

"it's kind of an emergency"

Willy scoffs, and goes inside to get her tools. "Cross-tie her." she says gruffly.

SHe does

"Some jackass left a line of rebar half hidden on the horse trail"

"You marked the spot." Willy states.

"I did" She nods

The nocker grunts and gets to work.

"If I find who did this, I'm gonna stab em"

"Yep."

Willy is good at her job; she has the shoe off and rasps the hoof down. "Oughta do all four."

"Okay. "

Another grunt; she keeps working.

"I appreciate this, Willy"

"Part of the job." she says, releasing the first hoof and moving to the next.

She moves around competently, removing shoes, trimming, and replacing shoes.

the horse is well behaved, doeesn't nip

Horse damn well knows better.

"Good horse"

"She doesn't suck to work with."

"We got nothing but quality here'

A grunt.

"willy, been meaning to ask, you making any friends?"

"Huh?" Dee gets a look like she's grown a second head.

"thought not" A sigh

"Hmmph." she finishes and wipes her hands clean.

"THanks willy. tell you what, I'll buy you dinner in town soem time"

"Just doin' my job."
