"I should have done the thing" Cutbert laments, "Uhm.. Steward Marigold? You didn't get ALL my scars did you?"

"No, dear." She pats him on the shoulder. "I left the cut on your left shoulder, it's bandaged, but you'll have a nice slice there if your Knight doesn't heal it up." Apparently Marigold has learned a thing of two about Redcaps.

"Thanks!" He grins, blood still staining his teeth, not from any biting, but the bashes to his own face

Gwen looks a bit bruised herself but clearly wasn't in that fight

Marigold offers Gwen a cup of something... Coffee?! Made by Marigold!

"Hmmph. I added plenty of cream and sugar so it won't stunt your growth, young lady." There's a touch of healing in there too.

"You can't drain your glamour like this, mom" But she drinks it

"What good is a mum for if not to look after her ducklings?" She smiles. "That's my girl."

"Now, what was the fight over, Briar, Cutbert? I'll have you two make up and promise no more feuding before you leave my kitchen."

Briar rolls her eyes to the other redcap. "It was for FUN."

"Yeah, we WANTED to feud" Cutbert says "I wanted to see her gloves, and she wanted first call on the arena today. She's got fast hands or I might have got her in the head" A grin

"Redcaps" Gwen mutters

"And he WHOMPS harder with that poke-stick of his than you'd think."

"THanks.. didn't work this time.. My guts woulda spilled out if it had been a real fight" It would appear Cutbert is willing to give credit where it is due

Thistle pokes her nose into the kitchen, on a quest for cookies.

"...huh."

A recap boy, that squire, is testing his limbs to see if they work

Gwen looks over "Hey, Thistle. The caps decided to carve into each other for 'fun'

"Some fun. COngrats, Briar?"

A BIG GRIN at Thistle. SHE gets it!

Gwen leans over and kisses her mom on the cheek, and yes, returns a bit of glamour to her , it's a cheat! Deal

A smile back at her tall adopted daughter.

Cutbert says "You gonna make the gladiators fight on a bridge in the arena this time, Briar?"

"You know in the Roman times, they could flood the Coliseum to stage naval battles?"

"Romans were furkin' baller engineers..."

"Yeah, jerks to the celts though" Gwen says "And I'm learning Irish celtic lingo hurts my mouth"

She shrugs. "Romans were kinda.. yeah. Dunno, they seem a lot like Americans for the ancient world."

There are sounds coming from the other side of the kitchen, wall...a small door that wasn't there before

Head tilt.

Is that the sound of pipes or something ? ANd not musical ones!

She sees four workers, quite the diverse crew. A male nocker, looks kind of old like he might keel over, a troll doing most of the hefting who looks pretty good in her overalls, a sidhe childling boy with a steel hand , and a female boggan of middle years with her eyes in some goggles.

The room is bare, and built to handle heat judging by the material...

A look behind her at the kitchen, then back into the door.

and ..wait, are they assembling a KILN?

The nocker looks over "You Thistle?"

"Uh... yrah?"

"Well, get your ass in here if you want to learn how to assemble a furking kiln" The nocker says

The boggan smiles "Hey, kiddo. We're from Darkgate... it's a lodge, but as you can see bit Pip here..." SHe looks at the childling, "We're Dougal heavy."

PIp waves a steel hand "It's short for Pol Iver Payton"

She hesitates, then crosses through.

The troll nods a greeting

"Okay, now you got grade A materialss, but what you want to do for assembly... and you better be listening because my voice will get louder and slower if you furking don't, is ask yourself where is the best place to..."

Assuming she listens, she learns some of the basics of laying the right pipes and material for a kiln, and how to install it. However, Thistle will also find they ask HER where she'd like this or that set up, little things, like patterns for the brick work or colors to mix in clay
