"Or perhaps he's bigoted against noble sidhe" She sighs "It does happen, but we'l lsee how his future behavior plays out"

"But why?"

"Well, sometimes it's envy, many, not all sidhe nobles, are well off. We are all, each one of us, blessed with beauty, and we have control over the most balefires. Our history varies from House to House, there is no denying that when the gates to Arcadia began to close, it was nobles who left first. Some commoners will talk about how the sidhe deserted their post, but this ignores such things as the chain of oaths that bound most nobles, so it's not like those so bound had much choice but to obey. It also ignores that not all sidhe did go, some houses had more stay than others. And it completely ignores that the other kiths had some get there too and wanted just as badly to flee. Do not misunderstand me, there are abusive nobles of my kith, but you will also find villains among every kith, and while they might claim they don't have as much power as sidhe TO abuse, I've found more than one of each kith who can do and has done plenty of harm. It's up to each of us to live up to what is best in our dreams, or wallow in whatever cruelties come easiest to us." A sigh "I have to learn a few things myself about how to be better than others expected me to be"

"Commoners can have freeholds?"

"Well, yes. The lodge I was raised in was a baroness, but also a troll.. she prefers the title Chieftain. Amazing woman, terribly Gwydion at times but I'd like to think I helped her broaden some horizons, and she certainly taught me the merits of her House more so than many of the sidhe members . But there are holds where the commoners are commoners as they lack titles. Some are utter messes, no less full of back biting, sell outs, and tyranny than the worst of noble held holds, but with a lot more self congratulations. Others thrive just fine. Sidhe have a natural edge in leadership, but that doesn't mean other kiths can't also be good leaders. "

"Gwydion, seelie Falcons, truth-tellers, anger issues."

"So there are nocker holds? I bet they're loud."

"There is at least one big nocker hold in this Duchy, and you'll find nockers also getting a lot of oomph at any Dougal hold as that kith andd that House ..well, they tend to understand each other"

"GLad you and Willy are getting along," Then a chuckle at Art's comment "She tends to have opinions that can be a bit cutting. She's not used them on me, but then, I'm half the land lord around here. RHIP"

"She might? We got the teeth for it."

"I confess, there were not many nockers in the Rivervale area. Two that I could name. But I did meet some when I traveled. THey're a proud kith, and quite aware no one matches them for reaching to the limits of craft, and then shoving those limits aside. I know one fellow who could make a maze that could confuse the air itself, and another who makes mirrors so magical you'd think the evil queen of snow white was his patron"

"Mm.." A flicker, spirals shifting to a greenish-blue.

"Still another girl makes bombs. I cannot tell you how much the Chieftain's left eye has twitched over her creations. Still, it helps remove stumps"

"...I could make magic stuff? Like... flying carpets, or time-turners?"

"It's not easy, but.. yes, I believe so" She nods "A lot depends on the cantrips you learn too though"

"I want to learn magic!"

"I mean, what could be more furkin' awesome? Like - fireballs! Flying?"

"Pyretics, or primal helps with fire, Wayfare eventually teaches flight' A smile

"Not high enough, though." He says with a bit of a grin.

"I know you said that we might not be able to reach the stars on magic alone... but mankind alone dreamt up a way to get all the way to the moon, so between Science and magic, there HAS to be a way to get close."

"Oh yeah. I want to see Deep Space Nine."

"I'd like to visit the little robot they sent to Mars. Did you know it sings itself a birthday song every year? Even though they left it there alone..."

"It's enitrely possible by now that little robot has a bit of magic to it, with so many hoping for it" She concedes "Your dreams are yours, and I won't tell you they can't be done. But I must say, you two certainly do aim big. "

He holds up a hand, and tries to spread the fingers... he might need to use his other hand to make the Vulcan salute properly.

"Live long, and Prosper."

A shark-toothed grin.

"Vulcans are SO space elves."

"Fascinating" Nadeen says, is she intentionally deadpan, or is this coincidence

He reaches up to touch the curve on an ear. "They got some things right. Will we meet any kith that resemble the Klingons? At first, I thought they were barbarians.. but then in the newer one, the one with the the Frenchman? They show honor beyond my expectations."

"Picard. Maybe trolls?"

A smile "I've always found Next Generation Klingons to have a certain troll like quality to them, yes."

She probes her teeth with her tongue. "I really hope nockers aren't ferengi."

"For Ferengi you'll want to see the Deep Space 9 ones, they're not as 2 dimensional there. But really I'd say nockers were more like engineers of star fleet period. Bit surly, very opinionated about what's to be done with THEIR ENgines"

"I do not know where I will have time to watch all of these." He admits.

"We'll work on it."

"I do like Scotty."

"I'm part Scottish."

"Which part?" He says, then ducks his head a bit, hiding his rather goofy grin.

The sense of humor may be new... Arty never really liked jokes much, having spent too much time at the butt of too many.

Nadeen smiles a bit. Suddenly she's reminded of joking with Dagmar, Sylvi,, Siv, Gerd and Zane
