"Hello, Baron Aidan and Baroness Nadeen. My squire and I wished to greet you and thank you for the invitation." Stiff and slightly awkward as she tries to do proper formal etiquette.

Sylvi bites her lip briefly, considering the two thanes. She doesn't really know either of them very well...and the last time she saw them was not exactly a pleasant memory (at least not that part).

"Dame Dagmar... Squire Connor" Nadeen shines "Welcome back to Silverwolf."

Aiden follows up on the greeting. "Silverwolf greets you, Dame Dagmar Hammerstrike ap Gwydion. Though our houses may be opposed, today we are at a shared purpose, to celebrate Fledge Gwen. Be welcome here." Formally.

Then, he says, in a bit of a less rigid manner in one way, and more in others. Eager, yet restrained, and uncertain - though Nadeen best can pick up on this.

"And I greet you, Knight Master Dagmar, protector and teacher to my son. And you, Squire Connor. Though you wear the Green and Gold, know that you may also claim protection of my House, should it ever avail you."

A bit of an inner debate...and then she spots the main honoree with a mortal on her arm, and goes to say hello there instead. "Gwen, congratulations!"

"Silverwolf does Ailil proud, I think."

"Sylvi, thank you so much for coming... tthis is Chuck, he's my boyfrriend. Chuck, this is Sylvi. "

Chuck is... he was watching a buxom Poison Ivy try to hug a Garden Gnome... he looks over at her indication, and smiles to the Troll. "Sylvi. Hi! Chuck Chesterton, of the Carthage Chestertons." He offers a hand for her to shake.

Baron Aiden considers that. "It is a compliment that you consider this so." Nodding to Dagmar.

Connor is looking up at Aiden, ears pricked, and thinking. "Do you want me to wear black and silver, then? I'm supposed to match my Knight. Our motorcycle has black and silver on it, but only 'cuz when I wanted to paint it, Sylvi didn't leave enough nail polish. I only got one handlebar done."

She shakes his hand carefully because troll strength happens. "Hi, Chuck. What do you think of all this so far? Not a lot of mortals get to see this side of things."

"My Squire has many important people in his life. If I remember my heraldry lessons right, I'm sure there's a way to honor Silverwolf if he wished."

"Perhaps a signet or little wolf pin?" Nadeen says

Aiden nods to Dagmar. "I will trust that if he desires so, you will help him accomplish this." A politically phrased statement, but it does seem that he may actually believe that she would.

Connor wags his tail. "I do like wolves. We have a whole pack. They fly. Well, there are two packs. One flies, the other one fights crime and plays basketball."

Chuck is a little star struck, but holding up. "Everything is amazing... I don't really UNDERSTAND what's happening today..." He admits to Sylvi, "But if it's important to Gwen, then it's important to me, and I'm here for her."

"Well, it's kind of like a bat mitzvah, but with an announcement of secrets that Gwen didn't even know she has." A pause. "Kinda."

"Is... is that elf talking to a tree?" Chuck's not, surprisingly, asking about Dru, but about the Namer, who seems to be in discussion with, or at, a particularly ancient willow.

Gwen blushes but also gives her boyfriend a look of pure delight, the says "Yes, I learn.. more about myself"

Sylvi follows Chuck's gaze to spot the sidhe in question.

"Who is that?" she asks Gwen. "I don't think I've seen him before."

"I will." She assures Aiden - the Gwydion, indeed, really might do so!

"That's. . .. my namer" A sigh

"Huh." She nods and accepts that easily. Then back to Chuck, "A lot of us can speak to animals or plants or things. It takes a little work, but you learn some pretty useful stuff sometimes."

Chief Hewitt seems to have looked for a thane

Aiden offers Connor his hand, and the Squire shakes it solemnly. His tail does give a single wag though, and he relaxes.

Checking the time, Aiden steps forward, and gestures for attention. Briar notices, and shouts, "HEY EVERYONE, SHADDUP!"

A brow, and, "Thank you all for joining us to day to celebrate the end of Fledgehood for Gwen Locklear. It has been an hour and a pleasure to teach her, and learn of her, for the past year and a day. Today we welcome Ser Feenagh ap Eilunid to guide Gwen on the next step of her path into understanding of her True Self."

Aiden lowers his head to the Knight, giving him the respect due not just a Knight but a Namer in his power.

"Before we do so, I would ask that a few of Silverwolf's defenders step forward.

"Thane Danica, Thane Linnea, Dame Lavender."

Marigold ushers Chuck away to a seat, while others can find their places. Gwen is taken to one side of the Dais, her time is next.

Danica, stern elder Thane (by several minutes) marches, and lowers herself to one knee before Lord Aiden. Her form stiff, her gaze forward, unwavering.

Linnea the younger twin moves forward as well, her shoulders somewhat slumped as though under a heavy weight, and complexion of a sickly pallor. She scans the crowd... and straightens up a touch, after seeing a certain Chieftain present. She moves to bow to Lady Nadeen, and then kneel as well.

Dagmar claims her seat between Connor and Sylvi's.

Gwen nods to Chuck, then moves to her spot. She watches with concern

Sylvi watches the thanes get called up and gives Dagmar a wide-eyed look. Is this going to be a happy thing?

An uncertain shrug in reply.

Dame Lavender un musses her hair and approaches to bow

The Baron addresses Danica first. "We have discussed in depth the terms of your service to Silverwolf." He says in a quiet tone, only easily audible to Nadeen, the Thanes, Lavender, and himself. "Are you prepared to make your Oath, and accept the terms we have discussed?" Nadeen is not certain she remembers such.

But Danica responds, "Yes, my Lord." And nods.

Aiden looks to Nadeen, welcoming her to speak to Linnea.

Sylvi frowns, trying to hear.

Nadeen nods gracefully

Linnea nods back to Nadeen in turn, it helps when your Lady speaks a little Troll.

"happily" She adds

Aiden nods to Lavender, as well, and then speaks up.

"Today we are reaffirming and revowing several oaths to Silverwolf. An oath is a bridge, between Lord and Vassal. Without both sides holding up, it shall crumble and fall. We have seen this failure in action, and through no fault of her own, one of our honorable and trustworthy Thanes suffers due to the action of her former Liege.

Now, we would correct that. Thane Danica, to swear to the Barony of Silverwolf. Thane Linnea, to swear to the Lady of Silverwolf, Baroness Nadeen Dancingsnow ap Varich. And Dame Lavender, to swear to myself, Baron Aiden Lowell ap Ailil."

"Wow," Sylvi breathes, audible only to Dagmar. This seems like a good solution for the situation.

A slow nod back. "Tough situation all around. This.. I'm glad."

Nods of approval, softt murmers

Marigold smiles, but she's watching Gwen. AND chatting with Chuck... oh dear.

Lavender kneels , as knight, she would go first.

Aiden draws his sword - silver and black, a slender blade - likely ceremonial, it doesn't appear to have seen much, if any, battle. But the blade gleams sharp and true.

He swears the Oath of Fealty to Dame Lavender DeLorean, first, promising to accept her and guard her as vassal, and THEN accepts her oath in return.

And she gives it, proudly, tears near in her eyes with the joy of it. She always wanted to be a knight. And she won that, now, "I swear fealty unto you, Baron Aiden ap Ailil. Your command is my desire and your request my desire. May my service always please, and may my sight grow dark if it does not. As the tides to the moon, my will to yours, my liege."

Sylvi blinks. She's used to the idea of the lord holding out on the oath of escheat until after fealty is sworn, and sometimes not giving it at all.

A coin is exchanged and she kisses the hilt of the blade and adds "My baron, it is good to have you whole and with us."

"Rise, Dame DeLorean, and join your peers."

Dagmar claps once, then looks around - was that the right thing?
