The Queen tries not to ogle the piskie. After all, she's a married... Sipping the punch, she hiccups, What was she thinking? She's not married, old ladies get married! "Black Jack, is it? I'm told I'm Queen Alice. How would you serve me? And... is that a ladle in your pocket, or are you glad to see me?" The drink making the Queen BOLD!

Black Jack the Piskie.. well, it looks like the ladle IS missing - Marigold is fetching another with a slight frown - Leans in. "Why don't you reach down and find out?" He grins at her, perfect white teeth.

The Jester tries not to grind his teeth.

Nadeen moves to the Jester and whispers in his ear "How are you holding, my lord?"

Gwen is blushing but observes

Black Jack flirts, and Queen Alice seems to be enjoying it. Running her hand on his arm now to feel the muscle.

The brutish redcap companion has made his way to a table and is slowly but methodically grinding through a stack of sandwiches. Briar has drifted over and is trying not to Stare. "I'm Briar. Never met YOU around here."

Piggish eyes peer down and he grunts, "Kilroy." Back to eating.

"That roast beef elk, you know? I got to hang and bleed out the carcass." Chest puffing a bit. "And I wore the skull to scare the piss out of some other folk!"
The Redcap just grunts noncommittally and keeps eating.. Briar doesn't seem to notice the inattention as she rattles off accomplishments.

Aiden was standing as still as a statue, but turns to incline his head to Nadeen. "I will persist. Are all enjoying themselves? ...should I go around and greet them? I had thought, to stay by the Queen's side... but she chose her own company." Not judging, he states a fact.

Danica remains a few steps away from the Queen, watching the crowd with a practiced eye. Bluebell brings her a drink... and she smiles, bending enough to sip at it.

Julius joins D'Lorean and takes a turn playing - he has a keyboard, but once it's tuned back to Piano and away from SynthPop, it does as nicely as the Harp to play along with the background music.

Linnea is making rounds, stopping here and there at the visitors. Occasionally Nadeen will see her point over to... to her! As the Thane points out Nadeen and lets the commoners know that she is their new Reeve, and will be the one to approach if there is any need in the future...

Nadeen whispers "it's not a snub to you, she's not after him because he's funnny, let me assure... and if she wanted you for the reason she wants his attention? I might get jealous" An admission with a soft wink "You do fine... but, may I suggest? Play to your strengths. Have you ever seen a dog trainer at a circus? Perhaps one of the hounds at your command for comedic effect?"

"In honestly, I am relieved. Were she to choose me, I would be hard pressed." He admits, quietly. "She may not recall this evening, but she is married. I would not hold her to her vows, but neither would I wish to be the one to cause her to unknowingly break them." Looking over at the queen. "She is... pretty, with her burdens lifted. Once, we had another Queen..."

The Jester trembles, a hand going to cover his eyes, atop the mask - but ah, a glamour twinge. The moment passes, and he is steadfast once more.

She touches his his mask and kens again "It is okay to miss her."

He is closed off, distant. “For those with the strength to do so.”

Watching the crowd, he asks changing the subject, “Did you meet with the Aberdeens? I was not sure that relationship could be salvaged. A shame. He is a valuable resource of community information.”

"I did" She says a quick whisper"No doubt if anyone can hear us right now, it's them. They know my House so I cannot blame them for being cautious but I think they know carnival is sacred to all. I hope they enjoy themselves and I served them tea with respect." She does not mention she's not sure she would take tea back in return from them, not without a food taster. But one step a time for all involved.

And she rises..she can't linger. She must charm and delight all the guests.

Willy picks her costume out of her... well, it was holding up a wall...... and goes to get a drink. Or something.

Aiden whispers back to Nadeen, "Good. Thank you. They are wary, but... perhaps they will come around." He watches her as she goes, wistful look hidden.. mostly.. by the mask.

"Oi!" A female voice calls over to Willy. "What's the deal with you, ya goddamn tart?" Another nocker lady making her way over, with a very friendly nocker greeting as it were. Her hand outthrust towards Willy. "Name's Kuchenfritz. Zelda. Friends call me Zee. You can call me Zelda. Homegoods is the biz. And you?"

Willy stops, shakes. "Ferrier. Well, metal work."

Nadeen asks the Aberdeens "Mister Aberdeen, forgive, I know you are a keeper of histories for the region. Would you perchance be interested in a history of Rivervale? It is a small fief but... it has some interesting moments"

“Got a goddamn proper name or an I sportin to call you Miz Farrier. W. Metalwork?”

Adler the boggan shakes his head but does not interrupt, getting himself a plate instead... though from the opposite side of the chowing redcap.

"Yeah, well. Willy."

As Nadeen approached she catches just a hint of a whisper from Lizbet, caught between a moment of a song ending and the next starting. “...go, please? We are not welcome h-”. And she goes silent as the Queen of Hearts approaches.

“Rivervale, New Jersey, Bergen County.” The historian lightly pushes up his glasses on the bridge of his nose. “There is some crossover, indeed. You will not be the first to transition holds between us, though perhaps your move will be more openly spoken of. It is not often that one swaps loyalty so easily from Falcon to Dragon.” The sluagh says in a soft yet not unpleasant tone.

A pointed glance back at Lizbet, and she says without making eye contact, “the tea cakes are... pleasantly stale.”

Zelda pumps Willy's hand. "Pleased to fuckin' meet ya. When you gonna come to town and see some of my shit? I bet there's stuff that yer steward can use, or can't live without, and he don't even know it yet."

"Perhaps it will," Nadeen says "Perhaps the Chieftain's preference for troll ways for the lodge allowed an easier transition for me than one might expect. The offer of such lore is sincere, though some trusts I would not share completely but beyond it, I thought it might be of interest to you. " A look to Lizbet, she's a child. Remember wha the others said about that. No matter how old the soul she is a child now "I hope the music's not too loud?"

"..." She whispers something... and has to be prompted to repeat it by her uncle. "...Do you know Symon the Denier?"

"What do you work in? "

"I do," Nadeen considers "We have a mutual friend so we have interacted many times. He's a devious one, not to be underestimated despite his lack of polish. There are stories, some of them very frustrating from my view, I could tell you about him, but I will say he has greater courage than even he knows to go along with his guile. "

"Home goods, yer average hausfrau or home-hubby needs the shit I make. Why settle for a toaster when you can have one that, turned sideways, will plonk 'em right onto the plates ready for butter? It's a time savings, and time is money, my friend. Mark 3 will even be self buttering if I can figure out how to prevent the knife from hittin the coils and zapping ya."

This takes Lizbet back a bit in surprise. To admit not only that she is acquainted with the sluagh in question, but speak well of him? She starts to ask another question, but then suddenly seems to take a chill, the kind that travels up your spin and makes you shiver throughout, and shifts closer to her uncle. He whispers something to her, and then nods to Nadeen, responding for her.

"It is kind of you to speak so highly of him. I had heard that Dark Gate had an altar with his visage that required sacrifices to keep a hellgate closed... but I had highly doubt the veracity of that claim, judging the source."

"You figure on unplugging the toaster before you get it working?"

"Have to test it IN PRODUCTION." SHe says, and shows off a scar on one arm. "I wear rubber gloves, but this sucker melted one."

She kenns at that moment of a chill

A newcomer enters - pausing by the door to take a mask. She is voluptuous, a being of soft curves and abundance. Her full hips and bosom are clothes with ivy and acorns, but her sides are exposed despite the chill. She has a touch of a belly. Her black hair shades to emerald green as it frames her face.

"Highly? Perhaps , a bit begrudgingly at times. " A smile "The statue is real, and while he would be pleased to hear of the sacrifices, I fear that is not the case. Dark Gate put his image there because his will defied the influence of fell powers, and thus helped save the day. Credit where credit is due there"

The Knave of hearts looks up from her playing and moves towards the new comer

"This is the party?" She asks, cautious but curious.

"Silver Wolf's Carnival, welcome, I'm the knave of hearts... our queen of the carnival is on her throne. our jester over there... and another queen hosting but she's only of hearts. And the food and drink open ... please, be welcome"

"Oh! You are a satyr! Hello! Thank you!" The Knave finds herself hugged! "I shall try the feast!" The stranger declares.

"I like how you say hi" The Knave says "This way" She leads her to a feast table

The stranger also, apparently, walked here barefoot. She sashays after the Knave. "There will be games and dances?"

"We have an amazing dancer.. hopefully she'll grace us with a bit... but yes, dancing period? Very possible. A lot depends on the Queen of carnival. For one night, annd one night only, she rules. First Carnivale?"

"In a way. Ooo..." She reaches out to pluck a treat from a platter, and tries it.

Nadeen doesn't sense anything out of the ordinary... other than perhaps the elder Sluagh drawing his niece a little closer as the surprisingly friendly Varich pauses to focus on her. "I visited Dark Gate. It was not for me. They'd have welcomed me though, when I fledged." A barely audible sniff.

Elias shakes his head a touch. "You cannot blame the Baroness for things before her appointment." Lizbet frowns a bit. "If I'd know what it's like, I'd have not wanted to fledge here, either." A bit indignant.

Aiden has risen from his seat and watches the new arrival with some interest.

A glance at the Queen... ah, but she's still chatting with Mister Eyecandy.

"Too kind,. Pardon me..." The Queen of hEarts says "I should mingle more"

And she sees the new comer and raises a brow

"You should try this too. What is it?" Poor Dee has a chocolate truffle popped into her mouth.

"It's a chocolate truffle" The Queen of Hearts says , "Made by Marigold. She's amazing"

"Marigold? Oh, delightful! So yellow!"
