Horseshoes, yes. Bits. Stirrups. Buckles of all sizes and types. Hinges and hasps, door pulls and stable door rollers and tracks. No wonder the bag looked and sounded heavy.

The roll is a way to carry, protect, and display them all.

She fidgets, adjusting the roll and shifting a few things in the ties that secure them to the canvas, straightening the whole thing and moving a vase of flowers a little further away.

Gwen eyes the items and gives a requesting look at her liege

He reaches for a horseshoe - only a slight hesitation before he picks it up. Aiden examines it with a knowledgeable air, running fingers over it to check for rough edges, tapping it to see the sound of the metal, whether it seems to have and bubbles or flaws that may break or crack under use.

A nod back to Gwen, "Tell me your opinion?" Perhaps a small test for both visitors and fledge.

Willy watches closely; she wipes her palms on her overalls.

"I would like to test the strength of some of the material, baron"

He nods to her. "Miss Willy, is that acceptable?" Setting down the horseshoe, and watching Gwen with interest.

"Yeah! Yes, yes, sure. Go ahead."

She takes a hinge, and bends it as it should go, then pulls it with a good amount of srength, she is not TRYING to break it, but she is seeing if it can take rougher treatment than is expected

And pulls the otherway

Aiden watches, noting both the strength of the metal and the muscular pull of the troll girl's arms.

It's clear the girl COULD do more, but when the hinge holds at the turn that would mimic somoene SLAMMING it back and forth, she puts it down "It seems to hold. She picks good material, lord. I don't know crafts. But I know it's taking punishment "

Willy smirks.

"I can do other work too. You work around horses, you gotta do some leather work. I kin do that kinda stuff."

"Marigold mentioned barding for the dogs, Baron. It might be a good idea in some cases" A look to Willy "Can you make something that has both chimerical and mortal protections?"

"Yeeeeeeeeesssss......" she scratches her neck.

A brow "If it's going to put the dogs at risk we should know I think. I.." She catches herself "Sorry, Baron. I am somewhat protective of the animals. I spoke out of turn"

He nods to Gwen. "No, you are correct. The safety of our hounds should be paramount." Approvingly. "A few questions, Miss Willy?"

He now takes a moment to question the Nocker, testing her knowledge on the materials. What shoe would she recommend for a larger Friesian - an ought or double-ought size? Thoughts on newer aluminum therapeutic shoes? Narrow webbed shoes for traction version wider for protection and slide... whether she would cast a tungsten carbide shoe with with without a fullered groove... things that would sound baffling to a layperson, but common shop talk to horse folk and their vendors.

Willy is able to answer; many times these are "Well, if the horse....." types of answers, because it's true that one size/solution does NOT fit all. So much depends on the health and situation of the horse in question. The weather, and surface the shoe will be used on. Her pale cheeks glow pink as she answers each question.

Aiden loosens up a bit as well as the questioning turns into a lively conversation, enjoying the talk about what he loves with another person in an adjacent industry.

It doesn't calm her blush any, but she tries to give as good as she gets.

(pause)

Gwen listens. Learning a bit as well

"Do you also shoe horses, or just provide the shoes? We have a hostler here, but generally have an experienced farrier in for shoeing."

A very slight wince. "I'm a farrier too."

"I mean, I learned to do both."

He raises a brow slightly. "Are you not comfortable with horses?" A hint of a frown.

"Pffft." Then she blinks as if startled the noise came out of -her-. "Can't do the job and be scared of horses. I'm fine around 'em; grew up around 'em."

"Mm." He stands. "One of our stallions has a loose shoe. Come, tell me if you think it can be adjusted or needs to be replaced."

"Do you have a rasp and puller?" Looking over the equipment out for those shoeing materials.

She nods and takes a moment to stow her canvas display roll (but not the associated debris). "Yes Lord. I have everything with me but the really heavy stuff." She digs a moment and comes up with a smaller, leather roll.

"Gwen, bring Ivan?" He asks, before escorting Willy towards the stables, a short walk.

('Small' being relative)

Willy follows along.

"Surely" She whistles "Ivan. Toot Sweet"

And Ivan charges up obediantly. It appears he's learned some bad french too

Willy, following Lord Brooding, catches a glimpse of Ivan and snorts quietly.

Ivan just keeps on growing

But the nocker doesn't have the baby pictures to compare him to

He leads them to the lodge, where a boggan gentleman (not that one, and just of middling age) is freshening up the hay in one of the stalls. "Lord Aiden." He calls over in greeting, but doesn't pause his work even to come over and bow. "Watch your step, girlies, that over there is not fresh hay. Mind the apples."

The troll makes a face at the apples mention but shoots a grateful nod

Willy is not in the least phased and avoids the droppings easily; although, she doesn't seem to care if she DOES step in them.

She follows Aiden to the stallion's stall.

"Dolph, we're here to see Brego's shoe." Aiden says. "Don't mind me, he's right over in far left stall. opposite Adelie."

Aiden leads Willy over to the LARGE black stallions stall, where the horse is leaning to one side, favoring a hoof. "If you would, please." Aiden gestures, and watches Willy.

She takes a look up... UP at the stallion, her hands in fists on her hips, her lips pursed and eyes narrow.

"Brego, huh?"

"Yes. He is the favored mount of one of our thanes."

The horse looks down at her, and snorts. A hint of glamour indicates to her that this is, indeed, a Fae Steed.
