Piper shudders. "After that... thing in the room, I'm not so sure."

There is a sudden cold feeling that reaches them as the door opens and a different hospital personnel walks in. She is brisk and wears a crisp set of pale blue hospital linens, no colorful scrubs here. Her brows go up as she sees the trio in the room. "What's going on in here? Where is the attendant?" Flipping through pages she carries.

Siv doesn't want Duncan in trouble, so lies smoothly "I believe a superior insisted on his presence right away. Not certain. "

Jonas feels the chill, and whispers to Piper and Siv "only one of us allowed to stay at a time. You two go"

A scowl. "I am his superior. And that is correct. Patients should be in their rooms, and guests are limited to where they may access. This is not some... house party that you can just wander in and out of rooms."

She stands there, apparently waiting for the girls to move on.

Piper takes one last glance at the babes then takes Siv's hand. "I guess we'll go back to my room then." With a glare at the woman.

Jonas notes the woman has excellent hearing.

Siv takes Piper's arm, as if Piper 'needed' to lean on her, just to sell it, and moves with her. "Don't be long, Jonas."

"I won't" Jonas assures, then looks at the woman seeking out a name tag discretely

NEONATOLOGIST

"Apologies, Doctor Bradford," Jonas says "No House party intended. Just we're very concerned for the children."

He makes a mental note to check with Anne Marie about this woman, maybe Dr. Lee knows of her.

Siv fights a shudder as she moves past the doctor. Not for the first time she curses her almost sidhe like weakness to banality

"Visiting hours are until 8pm." She adds brusquely and starts checking charts. She moves from bassinet to bassinet with a clinical air as she reviews the children in the NICU, of which there are a few others besides the twins.

Siv makes sure Piper doesn't lunge for the woman and gets her out in the hall

Siv is just in time, as is she can practically hear Piper's teeth grinding.

If Siv sees Duncan, she whispers "Dr came in" And describes her to him quietly "I told her you were summoned by 'a ' superior , maybe. She says she IS your superior as if she were the only one. Sorry about that"

She passes him on the way out, and he quickly grabs a few boxes of medical supplies from a cupboard. "On it. There was a critical lack of gloves." Grateful to Siv as he returns to the NICU.

Once Duncan is forewarned, she says quietly to Piper "Okay that woman is not the one we picked for your doctor, nor were we warned by Anne Marie she worked here"

A wince. "It's not Anne Marie's fault. She can't be expected to know every doctor in the entire hospital system. She DID recommend Hackensack Meridien, but... well, first of all we couldn't afford their private rooms, and second, when they said the babies might be in distress at urgent care, they just took me to the first hospital on their list. I know it wasn't my... our... birth plan. I'm trying NOT to be mad about it..."

"Sorry" Siv says "Just she..complicates things. Our babies aren't kithain, at least, not old enough to have their fae souls near release if they a re, so she shouldn't be able to hurt them. But I still... damn it."

Trying to put a positive spin on it, "I thought this place being a rutgers affiliate meant we'd have younger, hipper staff. I guess there's nasty old toads everywhere if you turn over enough rocks."

A weak smile but she rallies "Definitely 'house party' indeed. She'd bust a hip at a real party, and not the fun way. Still, we may have to run interference with her. And I know who we can count on for a bit of aid. Sally Mae"

Kinain can be very handy like that

A thoughtful expression. "How can she help? To be fair, I don't know her all that well, but I'm not sure this is a situation we can bake or buy our way out of."

Siv laughs "I mean, we can possibly have her distract the woman for us. The chill won't affect her as much. And, she IS family... at least we'll say she is. Other options exist" A nod "How are YOU feeling?"

"....starving." She admits. "Do you think the cafeteria has any vegetarian options?"

"I'm sure they must, and knowing mum and da, they're probably fighting trafic with enough food to feed us all but, that may take a bit. Want me to get you something from the cafe? or want to risk going there yourself and see if a doctor fusses at you for being outside your room?"

Piper mutters, "Can we send some cyanide muffins to the NICU?" A shake of her head, "I don't mean it. Ugh. I'd kill for some of your Tove's cauliflower bites, or those biscuits that Hearth Kerri makes... but a salad from the cafeteria will do for now."

"They might hurt Duncan" Regarding the mufins. A smile at mention of Tove's caulfilower bites or the biscuits "Cafeteria salad it is"

"As long as its something I can stab with a fork and think rude thoughts!"

"Croutons beware" Siv gives her a gentle squeeze and smile "We'll all be all right. "

"Do you think Sylvi strangled Rikki yet?

"I hope not, " Her brows crease "Why should SYLVI have all the fun?"

"You still okay with her being a fairy godmother? We'll have to decide now who gets which bebe! and Make sure they accept..."

"Much as i don't want to admit it to her? Whenever you've needed a friend? Rikki has been there. Whenever we had our backs to the wall, and she had finally had our chuckles, she helped us out , mostly because of you. I am a bit skittish about what she'll teach the kids influence wise, but... if she can teach friendship? They'll probably grow up better for it" Siv confesses

"So if you still want to ask her, ask her" SHe clarifies

"Well, and it can't hurt to have a godmama who can ferret out their secrets... even if she's the one least likely to narc."

Siv ponders "Yeah, I guess there's that too, on both sides. " They get to the cafeteria

They DO have quite a selection of nutritious and tasty looking salads, along with sandwiches, wraps, burgers, and more.

Siv sees not only patients and guests but also staff visiting to grab food, so it looks like they offer a decent selection (perhaps to keep the doctors from rioting).

"What'll it be, love?" She cheers at the sample of options

"Ooooo, I'll have that, and... that.. and one of those pastries... we need to get something for Jonas too. But..." She pauses, biting her lip. "I don't know if they're going to let me, you know, feed the babies."

"We'll find out" She picks out a few things for herself and tries to be light about it "Be great if you can. Put a little more heavage in your cleavage" A wink

It works, Piper laughs. "Too bad YOU can't take that on. No problems in those tatas." Admiringly.

"Thank you... I'm not ashamed to say I'm an up front kind of lass," She juts her chest out playing along for Piper's humor, then she thinks about it. "Actually" She ponders "There are...medications I hear that would cause me to.. . you know, produce.. I could look into that if need be?"

Piper stops in her tracks, lookin surprised. "....really? Like... for real?" She considers this. "Would you want to? I mean, it would be great for bonding.. and well, I wasn't sure I would even be able to HOLD two blue-blood babies. Even if they are small to start..."

Siv says "Like I said, I need to look into it, but I've thought about it. I mean, TWO Kids, like you said, they will grow and that's a lot on any one mother. Fortunately we have two mothers, right? Do you think it's a good idea? "

"You might regret it..." She warns, "I've done a bunch of research, and based on what a lot of milk-mamas say, it's not always rewarding. But if you could, well, that's that much more nutrition for our babies that's not powder in a box..."

A small smirk. "Good thing for Jonas it's not triplets?"

THAT gets Siv to laugh again "oh lord. Put im to work proper, it would!"

Siv then says "Rewarding would be nice, but it's about what's best for the little ones, isn't it? If it helps them, then I should probably do it."
