Brekke was not heading towards the cafeteria but she might feel familiar.. glamour?

Not too likely in a large hospital complex. But, at the front desk, she is told that unfortunately the patient she asks about has hit her guest limit at this time...

She definitely got the run-around about "maximum visitors" at the reception desk, but is told she can wait at the cafeteria for a time.

She is? Sure, why not.

With some frustration, she uses the (blasted) cell phone to send a message to Siv: I am being halted at the entry. Too many visitors.

TXT: come to the Cafeteria.. it's on the... (This floor and area)

She looks around and navigates her way through the series of labyrinthine but well-marked corridors.

"Mom is here" Siv tells Piper "They gave her the block because of too many guests, so I told her to come to the cafe" Siv tells Piper "Do hospitals assume everyone is an internet recluse?"

A blink. "Internet recluse?"

"I mean, do hospitals thinmk folks don't have friends and family they interact with in real life?" She huffs "Imagine, telling my mother she's not permitted to pass into visit our hospital room"

It may not be reasonable, But Siv is offended on her mother's behalf

It takes a few minutes, but soon a tall greying-blonde woman is visible across the cafeteria, seeking familiar faces.

Siv sees her mother, and rises, standing. She maybe shorter than most trolls but she still is tall compared to your average woman

A look of relief, and she crosses to meet them. "Siv. Piper." She looks stressed and concerned.

"Oh. Well, I guess, maybe?" She shrugs, and fidgets. "We should let Sylvi know she doesn't need to babysit Rikki.... I can go back to the room for now."

She stands when Brekke arrives, then realizes it would be weird to show deference, and just... hovers a moment, then sits awkwardly again.

Siv gives her mom a hug "Mom. Sorry about the red tape. It's a bit crazy at the moment." The hug is longer htan Siv means it to be. with her OWN mother, she can be the one relying on support..discretely

She hugs Siv and gestures for Piper to sit. "Please, rest. How are you?" Her brows are knit.

The hug is as long as Siv needs it to be.

"better than I should be, or still bedridden, depending on who's asking."

"Well, I am asking, so which will it be?"

Siv lets go, "Please, join us. " She gestures to the spot near her "I think we're all a bit tired. Piper with more reason than Jonas or I" A chuckle "She's been a trooper . Jonas is with the babies in the NICU"

Brekke nods and takes a seat. "How are they? The babies?"

"Physically I am well. Tired. Mentally I'm screaming. They want to keep our little one for weeks. Weeks!"

"They said Valr can go home in a couple days, but do we want to split them up, and split US up?"

"Franklyn , she's very wee" SIv nods "Two weeks they're guessing at the soonest."

She sighs. "I do not trust hospitals, and I know we can do good things for them, but...perhaps the doctors ar correct in this?"

Her face crumples. "It's not that she's SICK which is the problem. She's just... underbaked. Her lungs and heart aren't fully developed."

She tries a smile, but it's wobbly., "Guess you can't rely on me to cook anything right, right Siv?"

A sigh. "Then...what is it you wish to do?"

"I don't want to admit they're right."

"Hey" Siv says to Piper "None of that. They're beautiful... and we're told this is not atypical for twins. Did you see little Franklyn making tiny fists? She's a fighter. She'll be fine"

A little stomp of a slippered foot.

Siv is not lying, but Gwydion boon may note that the certainty that their daughter wil lbe fine is as mucdh a statement to assure Piper and herself as fact

"It is not a failing, Piper. They are different. That is fine."

"I don't want to admit that the doctors are right." She clarifies. "I don't want to BE here. But the idea of being sneaking out with babies that need more care than we can provide is terrifying too"

Brekke looks to Siv, to hear her opinion.

She frowns "I was all for them waiting here. Better than letting them know risk from leaving too early" She whispers "But one of the doctors came into the NICU and she's a touch on the cold side. Nothing we can't stand in the short term, and it won't hurt the babies at their age, but... " Troubled "SHE makes me have doubts . Maybe a minor dose of Spring after the first week? I don't know" Then she adds "Nurse Duncan, he's a dear. Good man, mom. Kind. Warm."

"Mm." She nods, concerned about the doctor, relieved that they have a helpful nurse. "Possible dreamer?" she murmurs quietly?

"Duncan? Possibly" She nods "Certainly a kind heart on him, with a touch of gentle humor. As for the Doc. I think she's going to have car trouble ... might cause her to get fewer hours at work"

A nod. "Perhaps...she might be called away for some award presentation?" she suggests. "In California?"

A brow "We can arrange that?"

"Well, I think the Mountain would be better to make the call. But I think so. And surely there are those who can cover her duties."

"I was thinking, Dr. Lee might know some folks, and if Anne Marie asked him, she'd get him to use his juice. " She smiles at her mother gratefully "Giving her some place else to be for two or more weeks would be grand"

Piper jerks a bit in her seat, her head was drooping.

"Dr. Lee is an excellent resource in this case, yes. I will go to see Anne Marie after here." A pause. "I do not suppose you have pictures of the babes?"
