Another day, around lunchtime, the Baron is seated and awaiting Willy and Wudlig to discuss... something or other.

Willy arrives first, dressed in.... her best. Well. She certainly made an effort.

Aiden stands when she enters, gesturing for her to join him. A light lunch is set out - sandwiches, coffee, tea, water with lemon, fresh fruit. Very casual by Marigold's standards.

Wudlig arrives too, dressed in his best

Willy is wearing clean bib overalls, a clean, long sleeved tie-dye tee-shirt, her useful, steel-toed boots, a long leather apron with pocket, hooks, loops, and symbols and sigils stamped in, and a winter parka with faux-fur around the hood.

"Please, come in. Thank you for taking time from your projects to meet with me."

Willy curtseys clumsily. "Honor's mine." she mumbles.

He comes in, removing his top hat of purple beaver skin. Very rare, purple beavers. "Happy to serve, Baron."

He greets Wudlig, and waits until they have had a chance to help themselves to at least a drink.

Willy takes a drink, whatever is there, and holds it.

Wudlig takes a drink, and bites a sandwich

"Marigold knows her sttuff"

"I'd like to speak to you both about Thistle. I'm looking to formalize a mentorship for her during her Fledge period, with one, or perhaps both of you."

He sips his tea. "Assuming that you would be willing. An unwilling mentor is a boon to noone."

A brow lift "I thought she was kind of being communiy mentored ,Baron. "

"She has been. I have reasons to want her to be directed more specifically for her training, and to have a formalized set of eyes upon her, as it were."

"Lest you think I have any concern about Thistle in particular, I plan on the same for Art as well."

"Mm."

"Huh. Not sure my craft and hers match" Scratch of chin

"It would be up to you if you wished to formalize a continuing apprenticeship past her fledge period, but for the first year, much I believe would fall under general umbrella of knowledge.

Willy exchanges a glance with Wudlig. "If... yeah, boss, it's up to you." she says to the Baron, not meeting his eyes.

"Actually, it is not up to me. As I said, a reluctant mentor does no one any favors. If you do not wish to take on a student, even part time, I will not ask it of you."

"Please, speak freely."

Wudlig says "She respects the heck outt of Willy. I like tto think she's good with both off us, but Willy may know her better"

"Thistle also seems to have an aptitude for mechanicals - I am told that she keeps her motorcycle in fine working order, despite the age and state of the equipment." Nodding to Wudlig.

"Look, that girl doesn't have issues, she's got SUBSCRIPTIONS." Willy blurts "She's jammed up in a bad way and I ain't sure I kin fix it. Not sure YOU can." to Wudlig "Not sure WHO can." to Aiden (or off to one side of him).

"She needs help." He agrees. "But healing may take time, and we must not let her fall by the wayside in learning what she must along the way. Magic untapped, skills unlearned, will break out in unusual ways, and often not pleasant."

He sets his cup down. "Nockers are fixers of machines, not man. I would not expect you to be able to cure her neuroses, though having mentors to teach and look up to will no doubt help."

"Well, she did her firsttt hopscotch" Wudlig observes

"Which could have easily have happened on the road - causing a terrible accident, or in gym class, breaking the law of ignorance..."

"Well, furk, yes, but she was running for her life so good ime for it" Wudlig says "Least I think so, Baron"

Willy nods grudgingly in agreement with Wudlig, rubbing the back of her neck.

"Agreed. But next time?" He shakes his head. "Dame Gladiola is taking on too much. She is barely past being a fledge herself, and seems to find herself personally responsible for both Art and Thistle, not to mention others. It is the Troll condition, to be sure, but this much I will take from her plate. Thistle and Art must have mentors to teach them, and I think you two would be best to help her."

A pained look at Wudlig. "Yeah. Sure, boss. We can try."

"Uhm.. boss, what about our projects? I have the solar roofing to do. " He does look over at Willy

"That is why I approached you both. It is my hope that between the two of you, taking on this extra burden may not interfere too much with your existing projects. Perhaps she may be helpful as well. As mentors, you will be able to requisition her assistance on projects, or at least, have her observe."

"Well.. shhe's smart, I'll give her that. She's got an idea for a flying contraption" A look to Willy "How do you want to carve this one up??"

"Of course, your compensation will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the change in duties."

"And additional stipend allocated for any materials you may see necessary for her projects - simply requisition from Julius."

Willy seems to lighten a bit at this part of the conversation.

"Ok. Yeah, we kin try." she says with a different tone, more positive "Mebee we talk about it outside?"

"That's mighty generous, Baron"

"Yeah, it is." Willy agrees "Right kind of you, Baron, thank you."

"Certainly. If you are both amenable, I would leave the dispensation up to you to decide how best to utilize your time."

"In fact." He finishes his tea. "If you would both care to do justice to this spread Marigold set up, I can leave you to discuss over lunch?"

"Uhm sure" A look to Willy

Willy nods; it's ok with her.

He smiles. "Thank you for your consideration." He also looks relieved. "Please, enjoy." He stands, and takes his leave.

He rises to bow, then sits down when the sidhe departs

He can hear the edge of a conversation in the hall - Marigold, scolding. "Did you even eat a sandwich? To the kitchen with you, now!"
