"Chloe asked me to bring her a journal or diary."

A blank look, then she answers "I'm sorry sir, but... she already got her diary" This is news to August, and he's sure news to Coradel /Chloe as well

"She did? When?"

"Well, if I recall, she took it years ago" She names the same time as when Coradel was a foster/fledge

"Hm. I wonder why she asked me to......"

"I wouldn't presume to know, sir"

She does look confused at this

"It was her, herself? You saw her come and retrieve it?"

"I..." She pauses "I 'm sorry sir, my memory of the details is fuzzy. But I AM sure of it"

"Mm." confirmation. "Thank you, Cindy." a pause "Did you feel it necessary to come here and help me look for it?"

She looks surprised then says "As a matter of fact, yes sir. I did. I'm not sure why. I didn't mean any insult by it"

"No insult taken at all. Thank you, Cindy." with kind firmness.

A dismissal nonetheless.

And she withdraws

Search as he might, August does nnot find a diary or journal,or for that matter, much pesonal info at all

about his lovely wife
