After she sends it, she says, "Oh. Oops."

Chelsea neearly knocks over her glass "oops?"

Moving briskly, August enters the Plaza and, having thought about it already, heads for the bar.

"Mm. Eleven minutes." Casual, taking another sip.

Then, after a beat, a slow smile. "Good thing he hadn't sent it yet."

And she turns as August approaches. "Hello, my love," she says, presenting a cheek for a kiss.

"I think I should go..." A swallow "I need to ttalk to my aunt about a job and.. talk to someone"

August seems cautious at the lack of screaming, blood, and flames. "Ah. Hello." he kisses the presented cheek, then nods "Chelsea."

"August, pardon me" She's rising

Seeming scared

Well, subdued

He will help with her stool if allowed. "Of course. A pleasure to see you again."

"Bye, Chelsea!" Chloe says in precisely the same intonation as Bye, Felicia!

There is no way to tell if August is sarcastic or now; he is all sincerity and manners. UNBELIEVABLE.

And out Felicia..err Chelsea goes, only the slightest glare at them, and even that at a distance when she delivers it

Then she gives August a look of wicked victory, and tosses back the rest of her whiskey.

Bu it's clear Chloe won this war

She lowers her voice. "It worked brilliantly."

August watches her depart. "It did?"

"You are sure?"

"Fairly sure. The blood draining from her face when she realized I have the video was a good sign."

"She may still try something in the future, but it would be a very stupid thing for her to do."

"In the meantime," she says as she also rises and takes his arm, "I'll set Hume on seeing about what he can do about Chloe's records...and then I need to speak with the SilverWolf baron about that foal."

August ponders. "Hm." Whatever he's thought he doesn't exactly love.....

"What is it?"

"Then we should get back. Separately, I suppose. Would you mind....."

"Mind...?" He's lost her.

"If I stopped at the DuBois's and looked for a journal." apologetically.

"Oh! Oh, I wouldn't mind at all, but the servants might have a fit. I'll let them know you're searching for something for me."

"Oh, and remind me when you get back that I need to speak with you about the auction I've been invited to there. SilverWolf, I mean."

He nods. "Thank you. And, I look forward to hearing about this auction." a shy smile.

He walks her out, gets their cars from the valet.

"Drive safely? I'll see you at home."

She gives him a proper kiss as they part. "See you there," she smiles, flush with victory.

And departs.

August shakes his head, bemused, and gets into the Prius to return to the DuBois mansion and a very neat, tidy search. Who knows what will be revealed?

He searches about in... (Which room?)

OOC: Chloe's.

As he digs about, there's a knock on the door

He puts things down and crosses to open it. "Yes?" pleasantly.

"Sir," One maid says "Do you require assistance for this project?"

"Oh, no. No. Chloe asked me to find some things for her. Ah. I think she.... ah.... would rather I do this myself." he clears his throat self-conciously.

"Anything in particular you're lookingg for sir? the staff cleans often"

(Pause)

August smiles gently and tilts his head. "Is it a problem for me to be here, Cindy?"

"Oh, no sir, just.. well, we do know the room well" She is flustered

"I'm not unfamiliar with it." he points out.

A blush "Yes sir. So.. you don' wish my help then?"

The young man seems to consider it for a moment, then slowly nods. "Perhaps I was hasty. Please come in." He leaves the door standing conspicuously wide-open.

She moves in "What are you looking for if I may knnow what to loo kfor?"
