The dance contest is being prepped

The stage is set.

Sylvi's stretching, warming up, but still chatting with Colton. "Such a weird Pennons. I'm just glad Mom's okay."

Piper is nearby, stretching her hands and fingers, and reviewing the music for each she needs to play.

Colton watches her stretch "I am too. Ah, you're not using the S-H-O-E-S are you?" Nervous

Jonas frowns "Where is Siv?"

Sylvi grins mischievously at Colton. "Should I?"

"No.. I'm pretty sure trying to blind every other guy in the place would have me arrested" Sheepish grin

She winks. "I'm not. I thought about it, but...mostly I'm just a little inspired by what they've shown me how to do. I...don't think I'm going to win, though." An admission. "Without them, I can't do anything close to what I can do with them."

"You're already winning, in a way" Colton assures her "They thought Rivervale wouldn't even SHOW at this. You're throwing that bias in their face. You, Nadeen, and Siv."

"Yeah. And, well, it's been forever since I really performed for an audience...as me," she adds with a significant look. "So, that'll feel good. Or I'll REALLY mess it up, and you'll have to make me feel better later."

"Another win win" He winks

Nadeen stretches near a bar

"....and maybe I'll used the you-know-whats then."

"Don't make me ROOT for the loss" Colton whispers

SIV and DAGMAR come up "Good, they haven't begun" Siv says

Sylvi grins, then takes a deep breath and shakes out her shoulders. "Hope we're starting soon."

The musicians are getting in place

"Let me just check in with Piper, be right back!" And Sylvi jogs over to where the satyr is warming up.

A quick conference, and she returns. "Okay. I think we're okay." She checks her spear, and her costume, and pulls out a hand mirror to check her makeup, and turns to him. "I look okay?"

"Like a gorgeous valkyrie"

Oh, that earns him a nice kiss. She'll have time to repair her lipstick before she goes on.

Nadeen peeks out to see DAGMAR in the gathering audiance

Dagmar is seated with other RVers!

Piper pats her guitar and smiles to Sylvi. "I'm all set for you!"

And maybe Gwen?

Aiden is there, perhaps a few rows back behind the RVer's, and he nods to Gwen. "Go, sit with your friends."

Briar made a show of complaining, but is there, after making Gwen buy her a giant funnel cake and popcorn to eat during the show.

Gwen says "Well, Friends I.. I barely... sure"

Nadeen smiles to see Dagmar

Aiden nods to Nadeen and raises a hand, ready to applaud for her AND Bluebell.

In the back, the Rabbit pooka is stretching, showing remarkable flexibility - she is slender, but tone - a dancer's build to those who recognize.

Others from other holds gather up. Teaneck, Unicorn's Eye, Other baronies.

"Are we allowed to cheer for dancers?" Gwen asks Briar

She swallows, "I'll cheer for anyone if you keep the schnacks coming."

And then music begins, and the announcer speaks "Ladies and gentle kith, we have with us a first time event for Bergen's Pennons. Music is celebrated by song, by string, but also- by Dance!"

"We have five judges, but your applause is welcomed and encouraged AFTER each set." As if getting a promise from the crowds

The crowds nod.. and smile. They'll ignore this

CRUNCH. Briar cheers the judges. "WHOO!"

Gwen snerks

Kerri and Olgar are with the Rivervale crew. Mercifully, they are not as done up as have been known to get for Sylvi's cheerleading events.

Piper pauses her limbering to give Sylvi a quick hug! "you got this!" Knowing that Siv will understand.

And someone calls out, "Our first performance, on behalf of the Count, Goodpooka Vandersnort Horton!"

She returns the hug gratefully before returning to Colton.

The Rhino Pooka in Parachute pants begins to break loose as soon as the music starts... honoring MC Hammer's "Can't touch this" as the music starts with a boomdeboom!

Some surprise...but then Kerri decides What the heck and claps along, enjoying the dance.

Briar chortles appreciatively at the antics.
Aiden... looks perplexed.

Nadeen sighs Well, there goes dignity. Thanks Obama..err Hemlock

To be fair, the Rhino really has it down! And the crowd seems to be amused, or even nostalgic for the most part
