For Zara, it is a melancholy moment.

Trolls.

And to top it iff, there is the matter of her fiction

"Feh."

She puts out the lights. The dark does not bother her, and she needs SHADOWS for a good proper sulk.

It was all so wonderful. New discoveries, HER Keen eyes finding things. Her keen hands getting them.

Best to dwell in the dark, yes the shadows understand.

Autumn is not one of her stronger arts, but she can thicken and enrich the shadows... oh, the library is a GLOOMY place, indeed.

Good. Let it share her misery. Let the light be banished. Irksomething.

Like smoke, the shadows curl under the doorjamb and into the hallway - a tenebrous warning for any who would intrude.

And for fifteen wonderful minutes, there is bliss.

Then, then, on the 16th minute, a knock

Shadows weave around the knocker's ankles.

"Sis, cut it out" Ivory's voice says "I'm not Fiona but I know better than to be terrified"

The door cracks open. "I wish not company. Need you aught?"

Ivory is beautiful as are all sidhe, pale like a statue of alabaster, and he can sometimes be haughty as all his kith- but he softens "I'm sorry to intrude when you feel down. I..was hoping you'd help me scry someone, but if this is a bad time..." Unsure

"I... could scry. Aye." Though a cross expression flickers across her features at the thought of that moonstone...

"I would welcome it." he says "I have a scarf. I hoped it would make a link?" He is not totally sure it will but willing to try

"Who are you seeking?" She steps back, allowing him room to enter.

He enters in and walks into a bookcase "Kind of dark in here"

A little hissy noise, and she steers him to a chair. "Touch naught."

"Why is my inablity to see in the dark my fault?" He says perhaps rhetorically then says "Her name is Gwen. She's a mortal girl I was musing. Then I lost her. I don't mind if she found another muser... but vanishing? I hope sh'es okay"

She sucks in a breath. "Mortals are difficult - those I do not know, doubly so."

"I was afraid of that. Will the scarf make up for that?"

"What more can you tell me of her?"

"Age fourteen, half native American so long dark straight hair. "

Eyebrow.

"Surname?"

"Waht's the brow for?" He says

"Locklear" he says

"Mm."

"mm? You're as bad as a troll today" He chuckles at her brief responses

She prickles.

"Speak not of trolls."

"Fie on them."

"I..." He pauses "Fie?"

Then realization "oh boy. Earl put his foot in it?"

"Fft!"

"Oh , I'm sorry. My timing really is awful" he says "You should talk to Vashti. She's..she's easy to talk to and you know she won't spread it. I'd offer but I get the feeling it's a sisters thing"

Grumbly whisper-mutters as she collects her scrying supplies.

"Want me to beat him up?" An offer

"Nay."

Zara fills a silver bowl with water, and carefully places the scarf in a triangle shape around it.

"Fine. Can I glare at him next time I see him?"

"Aye."

"Thank you" he says " A long lingering glare..."

He stops muttering and watches her work

Zara is murmuring the mortals name, over and over, until the syllables melt into nonsense.

And they blather and slither and and slap together... and then...
