Zane blushes "Sir, I'm not really up for lessons now.. if it's okay?"

"Sure sure, you and Adam hang out do what you like. Rough time"

That decides it. He drifts back to Zane.

Zane walks with Adam a bit "Sorry man, don't mean to be a buzzkill, but my dad doesn't understand me. Who I am, what I want to do..anything!"

"No prob. I get it."

"I just want to clobber him... or tell him to kiss off, or yell at him if he'd just listen! You are so lucky your parents are great!"

"Yeah? At least your dad's Fae. And the same Kith." Adam kicks at some dirt.

"Yeah, and that means he can tell me how I'm 'satyring' wrong. " A sigh

"So, like... what's the deal?

"It's complicated, but every satyr has a passion, and and if they don't, they find one. It's like troll's duty? Anyway.. I found mine, but dad doesn't believe it's legit. Whidch... makes me want to pull my horns out"

"Screw him."

"I'll leave that to the coeds. Sure, he can bang a twenty one year old , but shouldn't? Which of us is closer, dad"

"Yeah?" Interest.

"Yeah, dude, you have no idea. " A sigh "My House is like every old B movie... and like every old B movie, I'm ONLY allowed to watch and best not get caught. There are days I see such hot chicks walk in for 'study buddies' that I swear I enter a room like 30 seconds before I can look into it"

"Dude, we have to hang out more often."

Adam grins at something.

"What?" A look at the grin

"Nah, nothing." It's something. "Other than missing out on college girls, you... doing ok?"

"I was. I mean? I was SO fucking happy to have found my thing, you know? Like you, wanting a place at the lodge and finally getting it? Kinda? "

"Yeah?"

"Then... suddenly, dad's not listening... and that sets me off... and I complain, and the Chief tries to help. Only he was listening, he just doens't respect it so... it all blows up. Damn it, Dad is like...I know he's mad his son isn't as smart as him but does have to be peeved that I'm like... not interested in arguing with folks all the time?"

"You're just as smart, he's just got the paperwork on it. And what's the point of arguing? People..... they're gonna do what they do. You gotta do what YOU do."

"Yeah I.. see, this is why I like you, Adam. You .. you know what it's like to want to , well, not just chase girls, but you know what it's like to want to be in the center of it all, to find happiness in something that feels true... and you don't blame others for having hteir own way of doing it. rite?"

"Well yeah." (Duh)

"I mean.... is there a rule I don't know about yet? That you, that anyone, can't be happy except, like, a certain way?"

"Not that I know of" he says "More a culture thing as my father sees it. "

"Your father fears his obselences" A voice wheezes in a field, almost sluagh like, but no whisper

The scare crow turns from its resting point, and looks at them both "Ah, the Miss-born Prince and the Lonely Wizard. I have been expecting you to drop by sometime"

Zane blinks "Shit. Didn't mean to come near here at all"

"Dude... what is it?" Fascinated.

"AN inaminae, kind of like miss Prim? He's... creepy, but knows things. Sometimes things you don't want to know once you learn it" he admits.

The unstiched mouth flaps as it speaks "Bah. Only the cowardly know bliss, in their folly they are content. I test courage by offering knowledge at times, advice if you will. "

"Yeah?" His interest is sparked.

"You, Miss Born Prince, you finally have almost all you want, though you know there are things you can never have. Almost though, not bad. "

"Yeah." Teen truculence. "I know."

"Ah, but in you is a longing for not just yourself, but to help others.... perhaps a bit of fluff you want to make more real?" a chuckle

"Easy, Adam. That's how these guys get you in stories. One moment it's 'I have something you need' then blam!, something wicked this way comes , Dreaming Edition" Zane warns

"Like this thing could actually -do- anything for anyone." He scoffs, turning away. "Come on."

"Oh, I like that... the wish without wishing, challenge the genie's pride... silly boy, you have not one, but two who can help that fluff without offering me a thing. Emiggen your options mm?"

A shrug. "Let's go." He leads the satyr away if he'll come.

Zane does follow but as he does "That was an interesting clue. Don't you think? "

"Yeah......" Adam breathes out.

A tilt of horns as they walk

"What the hell? I mean, ok, Inaminae.... whatever that is. But.... what did it mean? I Mean, I can guess at one of the two that help......" Another grin.

"Well, bit of fluff? Insulting, but it sounds like... something less mortal?"

Adam stops and looks back at.... it.

"I bet part of what that was talking about was Nab."
