Bachdion whispers to Sparrow "NOW he wants it"

She laughs. "Alright. Sir Colton, if you would lead on?"

"Let's move quickly before Marcellus finds out we're skipping dessert"

"ooo, we could go back for dessert?"

"That might keep the peace," Bachdion smiles

"I'm in favor of it. For 'the peace.'"

"Yes yes, after the smithy" Hewitt says

Colton fights a smile "Peace is chocolate cake with double icing and and a scoop of ice cream"

"Gahhh. Be still my heart."

Ever see a Dougal prance? A Dougal troll?

"He's like a kid at Christmas..."

And they get to the SMithy which is... GOOD, but not waht it could be

"It's nae finsihed" Hewitt says

"Well, there's no proper holder yet..."

"I know, I put priorities on other rooms" Colton says then nods to what Sparrow says

Bachion says "I myself was sad that there was no sunroom for basking..."

"SUn room for basking?" Hewitt gapes at the satyr "it's Rome New York, not Key Bloody Largo... and why would you want to bask when there's work.. "

Bachdion looks at him in seeming confusion

"Fiona Satyr, Hewitt."

"Bah, you want heat, get taht forge going" Hewitt proceeds to fuss and croon.

all over the smithy that is.

She hangs back, amused. "Well, Squ-...sir, what do you think?"

Colton whispers "I have to interview him. I can't just..hand it over. Think he'll be upset?"

"Well, if he is - then he's not suited, is he?"

"A point" HE nods, and goes to help the man sort things out...and then asks questions.. hypotheticals and 'what ifs'

The baron is so occupied, that he doesn't think of WHY he's being asked, he's just asked

SO he answers

Sparrow watches, and listens, to form her own opinions.

The Baron is noble friendly, but the same things that made him a decent suitor before help show he hasn't changed too much, and he's quite sympathetic to the commoner motley that was here, and agrees while they might not be typical lodgemates, they deserve respect . "Hurscarls perhaps" He nods

"Oh If I set up a workshop smmithy, the count will have to shush or the House will disown him. You don't intrude on fellow Dougal work... and for the troll Duke, elected or not, I could appeal to his troll kinship."

Colton nods and asks a few more questions

She mouths 'the Eiluned' to Colton

Colton winces then explains.. the bargain

"You bargained with an Eiluned? Did you count your fingers?" Hewitt asks

"Detachable" The younger man says holding up his copper hand and wigging

Bachdion smiles at that

Hewitt says "Technically, an Eiluned was allowed to join the lodge, that doesn't mean they join as one of the three, but if best qualified, her or she should be considered for it is waht I'd.." Light dawns on the Dougal's gaze, "You sneaky so and so... are you interviewing me?"

"Yes, Baron, " The knight says "I promised the Chief I would look after this place, that means supporting the right chief."

"And one doesn't promise the Shacklebreaker lightly...."

A grin "One does not." A look at Colton and nod "So do I pass?"

"I think you do," Sir Colton says, "If you want it. I will turn it over, if you agree to hold to the same promises and bargain I made. I cannot escape my honor"

THe Baron looks at the Baroness, "And you think I'd be a good Chieftain here?"

"Well, I did go looking for you."

"It won't be easy, there are real challenges here. But I don't know a Dougal afraid of hard work, or a troll who shirks from duty."

"Fair enough" Hewitt says "Aye. I'll take the job. We will do a proper ceremony for the transfer when you're ready, Sir Colton."

"Wonderful!" A laugh, feathers fluffing. "Seems I could still help."

"Of course," Sir Colton says

"Not quite how you pictured brokering a freehold with me, eh, Hewitt?"

"Ah, no no..." Hewit ssays "Somehow I don't think ye'd want to be a trophy wife to a Troll Chieftain since you turned down being an equal at a noble hold"

A soft sigh of regret.
