Gerd appears, hand in hand with the Chieftain, going on about this sidhe fellow she met at the Saining still.. the young woman has it bad. "And he is so wise, we each have to walk through the darkness alone, he says"

mm some of this life advice seems to be encouraging her to defy elders and convention in lieu of him

But .. they look about, she has othe rmatters to tend to. They are at the new lodge's door

"I see," Brekke rumbles as neutrally as possible. "I think it is time he come to the Lodge for dinner. Perhaps before Yule." She releases the girl's hand and approaches the door. Does anybody stand guard?

As a matter of fact, yes, a DeBuke greets her, "Chieftain, come on in," This fellow is but a boy of a wilder, not much older than Gerd.

Clearly she knows him.

"Hi, Riggs," She says

"My thanks." Brekke nods to Riggs. "Do you reside here now, or are you here temporarily?"

Sparrow is in the hall, playing cards with one of the locals. Losing.

"My little sisters hope it's here now," The boy says "They want my room powerful bad, but it'll be upto Chief Hewitt I guess"

The Eshu is really good at cards

Brekke looks amused. "I hope the outcome is pleasant to you, whichever it is." Then she sees the game in progress. "Lady Sparrow."

"Oh she is not coming in, never play poker with a Gwydion" the Eshu says

"Brekke! Hello!" A grin and a wave. "I'm betting my tail kicked, how are you?"

A small chuckle at the eshu. "Wise words." Then a nod to the sidhe. "I am well, thank you. You know Gerd," a nod to indicate the younger troll at her side, "But I do not believe we have met," she says to the eshu.

"Not formally I suppose. Mostly my mind got played with and I tried to stab your husband, sorry about that" He says

"Yes. It did not set a good foundation for introductions."

"I'm Bahadur" he rises and bows, "And the Baroness does better than she thinks, but gambling is in my blood"

"Must be pure vegas chips in there..." She sets her hand down.

Brekke returns the bow. "I do not wish to interrupt the game just when Lady Sparrow is about to make a stunning reversal and soundly defeat you." Her delivery is utterly deadpan. "I hoped to speak with Sir Colton and...Hewitt, I believe the name is? Is he Chieftain in fact?"

"The final ceremony isn't done, " Bahadaur says "You'll find them in the smithy. Dougals" A shrug then a look to Sparrow, "You see, Baroness. You're about to beat me soundly. You should bet real money this time"

Snort. "You aren't that good. 20."

An eyebrow at the eshu, and then a nod. "Gerd, do you prefer to come with me, or to witness the battle at hand?"

"I'll hang around, get ot know the rooms" Gerd smiles

Bhadour grins and resets the cards

Brekke looks at her a moment, thinking. "I rescind the option. I would prefer you with me. Please come." And she turns and advances to wherever the eshu indicated for the forge.

"Oh fine" Gerd follows

THey head to the smithy, the bale is not here, but they hear talking "So you've got a good hand for metal work, I'd be happy to teach you proper smithing if you like. Have you decided about me offer?"

"Very little but, " Colton's voice can be heard

Brekke clears her throat. "May we interrupt?"

"If you've business with the hold tis no interruption but our duty" goes the Scott burr, "If you've no business, well, then it might be an interuption but you're being so polite about it how could we say no? Come in whoever you are"

"It's Baroness Brekke" Colton says "Please, Chieftain, come in"

Brekke's slight grin may signal to Colton that the Scott has made a good first impression so far. "Thank you, Sir Colton. I have heard the Lodge has a potential new leader." A nod to Hewitt.

"Yes, please, Baron Hewitt ap Dougal, this is Baroness Brekke King, the Shacklebreaker, ap Gwydion, Chieftain of Rivervale," Sir Colton is polite "Chieftain, the Baron here is my choice for Chieftain. He has agreed to the same things I agreed to, and had some ideas aside."

And it is Sir, if Brekke hadn't heard - there, the white belt, there, the spurs...

The Dougal offers a hand "Do you prefer Chieftain or Baroness?"

Oh, Brekke has certainly heard, if not from one source, then another. The gossip chain is strong among the Rivervale wilders.

Brekke shakes his hand. "Chieftain, thank you, Baron. I would like to hear more of these ideas. And Sir Colton, congratulations on your elevation. It suits you, and it is well-earned." A firm nod of approval.

"I do not wish to disturb your crafting...." She looks to the forge work area.

At the 'sir' comment, Colton does try not to visibly stand even straighter, but it looks good on him. As if the tile has bequethed confidence without arrogance, maturity without loss of youthful energy "Thank you, Chieftain"

"It's okay," Hewitt says "I'd not have shook your hand and let things gone to ruin if that were the cost. "

Indeed, they appeared to be between projects... there is a newly forged dagger though

"Understood." Brekke gestures Gerd forward. "Baron, this is Gerd of Rivervale. I do not know if you have met."

"We have not," he says, "A pleasure, Gerd."

Gerd bows, "Your lordship. Nice to meet you"

"Is there a place we may sit and speak?"

"This way," Colton says, "Please," He leads them into the room with the balefire and the table

Brekke looks pleased by Colton's choice, and she settles in an offered chair.

"I'll see if Marselles has Coffee," Sir Colton says

"He better if he's hoping to win that Hearth position," Hewits says "How's any thinking to be done with out it?"
