Once she manages to get to the hold, she parks (not perfect, but hey), and goes in search of Bancroft.

PUlling before Teaneck's hold, they make their way to the tower with raven and unicorn designs

that is, SHE does. the car stays

And she finds a thane, a troll "Can I help you?" He says simply

"Hi! Yes! How're you?" A bright smile. She's suddenly realized that, while a few people here might normally recognize her, they won't recognize her today. "I'm on an urgent mission to seek out one Thane Bancroft...know where he might be?"

"Thane Bancroft failed to report for his shift"

"Oh! Huh. Well, okay...know where I might find him? It's pretty important."

"It is possible he's in his room. Unusual... but possible. or perhaps the garden area."

"Great! You don't mind showing me, right? I really, really need to talk to him, 'kay?" Charming and sweet.

"I'm on duty." he says "If you'll ask one of the staff who is not at guard, perhaps they can act as your guide, but I annot leave my post" Trolls are so..stubborn

She tips a jaunty salute at Captain Serious. "Will do! Thanks!" And she marvels that this guard just turned a Piskey loose in the hold...but hey, gift horse and all that! She whistles as she wanders through the halls.

"you need be somewhere?" A whisper that makes her jump, and she realizes that perhaps she is not as unwatched as she might think

"Oh! Oh? Hello?" She looks around for the source.

The sluagh is dressed in a tattered old set of Edwardian clothing "you seek Thane Bancroft mmm? One can't help but overhearing"

"One can't? Well, okay then." She smiles. "Yes, and if you'd be willing to help me find him, I'd really appreciate it."

"perhaps one might assist if one knew why you were seeking him-specifically?"

"Perhaps...or perhaps one could just try to keep up as I explore. I really don't mind exploring, you know. I kind of prefer it. So, okay!" And she continues on her way, poking her nose in here and there.

the sluagh sighs...

and when her fingers linger a bit too long on a candle stick, or a wooden spoon decoration, he 'ahems'.

She rolls her eyes. "Getting a cold there?" Just for spite, she does a bit of misdirection, pretending to pay attention to one thing while palming a tiny trinket.

and a soft whisper "Put it back, kindly, please. If you do not, well, I shall have to tell the baron of our transaction"

it would appear that for this sluagh, the eyes might be quicker than her hands

"Oh, would I then have to point out that, when I asked for direction to find Thane Bancroft, I was first told that another Thane was 'too busy' and then a sluagh tried to extort me? Asking for a friend...."

"oh you misunderstand... I am not trying to extort you.. I ask for no bribe. the transaction would be your pinky, the left one... for the object you stole."

a chilling casualness to it. She's not sure he's joking.

"Oh, no, I get that...but you tried to extort me for information in exchange for telling me where Bancroft was. And don't try to tell me information isn't a commodity -- I know a sluagh or two! So I'll just hold on to this for now, and you can explain to the Baron when he shows up."

She jauntily continues to make her way along the halls in search of Bancroft.

A gesture...and a whisper... "Entwine, entrap, and enfold"

And suddenly vines rip from the floor, more like weeds, catching the piskie, winding around her legs, hips... and arms

She tries to skitter out of the way of whatever that might be.

"Oh!...drat."

The sluagh walks over to the now trapped girl... and eyes her fingers "Left pinky.yes I can get it from here." He pulls out a thin knife

She rolls her eyes. "You can have it back, but honestly, if you'd just tell me where Bancroft is, you'd save yourself a lot of trouble later." She looks at the knife and...well...if worse comes to worst, she knows a bunch of people with Heatherbalm...so she bites her lip and braces for the unpleasantness.

"My, you are bold. You should consider working here." the knife flips away, "Quite right. " he takes the object back "But if I may? Boldness will one day be called as a bluff for truth. And the consequences can be..nasty. Obviously however, I will not shed blood in the hold. Outside, surely, but not here. Interesting..what's this?" He pulls out Siv's keys

"Those...appear to be car keys. To the car I drove here. So, I'm being mugged now, too? Teaneck is totally getting a bad Yelp review from me."

"You are a cheeky creature, oddly familiar, yet not on the list of piskies in the County. Of course your people do travel" he sorts through other things

And he draws forth a cookie! "oh.. well, that explains everything. " And he puts it back

"And you're a prime candidate for the TSA," she frowns at him as he goes through her clothing. She raises her voice, "Excuse me! Piskey being molested over here! I'd like to speak to a manager!"

"You do know the bussiness of htis hold is spying yes?" He frowns slightly at her volume

"I'll take it from here, Hoffsteedler" The Baron of the hold says "With your recommendation?"

"Hoffsteedler. Great. Gonna remember that, you bet." A miffed look.

Hoffsteeldier bows "Boiling her in oil is probably extreme. She is however likely a thief.. in more ways than one. the car she has is registered to one Siv King. She is asking for Bancroft repeatedly without explaining why ... and she has one of those detestable cookies which always complicate things."

The sidhe baron smirks a bit "yes, boiling is bad. Thank you, Hoffsteelder. If you'll release her, I'll take it from here"

And with a cough...the vines/weeds are gone

"Hmph!" She folds her arms and puts her nose in the air. "If you'd just helped me when I'd asked for help...."

"Thane Bancroft's personal affairs are not for strangers, Sylvi, and my people didn't know who you are. Not giving you information on one of our own was standard procedure." Baron K says
