Grump watches Grump. "You ok?" Frank asks him.

"Me? I'm fine...just can't help all the folks I'd like to. Da'an's a bitch sometimes" A glance over to the girl "Mm mpardon my language. Don't worry, the Phantom will get me where I need to be."

Frank finds himself stepping outside the rig... how he got out he's not sure.

Now he glowers.

If Siv is not with him.....

but the numbers on the truck '309' are easier to note... and the truck drives off with Siv and Frank watching it go... a brief heatshimmer... and yes, his daughter is right by his side

but in that shimmer, the truck is gone from sight

"Did it just...what the heck?" Siv says

"Road heat in the Midwest, in April. He magicked us, alright." Frank turns to Siv "What did you see? In the window?"

She describes the same things he saw

"Dad. I know those people are real. I don't know how i know it, but I know that that's..the future? Is that.. I sound crazy"

"I saw it too." Frank glances down the road. "He wanted to do something about it but couldn't because of his Da'an.... it happens. So he made sure he'd find someone who could, and would."

"Yeah, well, we're not getting there in time without that part " Practical and all, she opens the store door.

"Good girl." Frank goes in to get the part he needs.

Turns out he can get a good deal on it. Siv asks the owner "Uhm.. you know a Trucker named Big Joe, drives ..the Phantom 309?"

"Wow, that's a really old song" the man smiles "Not many girls your age know that stuff. I prefer Convey to be honest." And he rings Frank up. Including a spare for some other parts in case there's any more trouble. "Now you needed a ride?"

Frank vents a little huff at that, but responds with a nods. "We do, sir."

"Not a problem" Turns out the man is happy to do it for free. Good word of mouth for the business.

While Frank repairs the truck, Siv uses her phone to get the song "Phantom 309" and blinks "Dad, we're not sluagh, we don't see ghosts. So how?"

"Not sure they were ghosts, exactly. Hand me that? Thanks." He grunts at something up under there. "Visions, maybe."

"We're not Beaumayn either but.. I guess stranger things. Maybe he was born of the song, or maybe the song was inspired by him" She hands him the parts he needs. "Shit. We're not going to have time to help these folks, see Jude, AND see Jessica are we?"

Frank is quiet a moment, thinking, and he doesn't even correct her language. "Probably not. Jude is a must-do. And then, help. You could go see Jess while I do that. Maybe your mom could join you."

"No no.. I saw it too, and that makes me ...problems should be solved by those that see them, and can help." She says "Besides, we might be able split up and you help one while I Help the other... less chance of one having their trouble before we help" She helps hand tools over watching how he does it. "But wahtever happens, we've got to get back well before Dagmar's saining, or we'll never hear the end of it"

He makes an amused noise. "At least." Agreeing.

A smile from his daughter "Mm I think I'll do the oil while you work on that... " And she gets to work

The trip is soon underway as the ring is purring.

Frank drives, a professional in his environment.

For all her griping about the plains (Though she stopped that before it got annoying hopefully) , Siv seems in awe of the Rockies "They make the hills back home look puny"

"These mountains are younger."

"And huge" She says "But right right.. just ...wow. Folks ski down those things? Might be fun"

"Maybe we should go sometime. Your mom can ski. I think."

"She can? How do I not know these... you two need to talk about yourselves more"

Frank chuffs. "Maybe you just can't remember what we told you already."

"Entirely possible" She concedes after a bit, and takes pictures of the mountains "But sometimes you and mum talk about the stuff that's dull instead of the stuff that's interesting"

"Sometimes that happens." He agrees.

"Still, wow... you must ride the brakes all the way down these things" She observes

Frank nods. "It takes practice. I'll have to focus." Indeed, as they start to climb there is a lot of intricate gear-shifting.

And Siv quiets down, despite being a chatty troll at times, she knows when hands are needed at the helm

Frank takes a few breaks at truck pull-outs, mostly To ease his shoulders and flex and massage his scarred hands.

"You okay dad?"

"Oh, sure. Just not taking chances with this cargo." He gives her a grin, hidden behimd his bread; they are not hauling a trailer at all.

"What cargo.. oh" A grin "Thanks, Dad, but I'm not that fragile."

"I drive this thing into a ravine, we're -all- fragile."

"Fair point" She says "Let's not do that."

Break over, Frank does a walk around on the truck and they start off again.

It takes time but they cross the rockies, and close on Jude's county.

"Count Jude is different from Count Hemlock."

"Well, he's a Liam. I know that much"

"He is. A rare landed noble of the House." Frank shift rig gears. "I think you could call his style laid back."

"Oh, that sounds nice actually" She says "I tend to feel a touch nervous at formal things"
