"Okay" Lupita says as she and Dagmar meet on 'neutral' ground, of sorts, a gazebo "Snow Day finally comes to Bergen. May is out with boyfriend normally I'd tease her. Isntead, you and I, gringa, are gonna talk. Okay?"

"I am not a gringa." She sits down and puts her backpack on her lap. "I have Tove cookies."

She unzips to produce a ziplock stuffed full of chocolate chip cookies.

"Okay, you're not a gringa, especially not when bringing Tove cookies" She says eying them "Ah... if I eat these, I don't get stolen foreveer or anything? I mean, it's it rue you're a fairy? And I don't mean like into girls, I mean like... tinkerbell and shit? "

"NOT like Tinkerbell. Like, the opposite of tinkerbell."

"Yeah, I noticed the size situation"

"And I've had a magic cookie once, but that was after I got stabbed by a giant evil bug."

"Okay" she takes a cookie and munches "Giant evil bug?"

"These are just regular cookies, but Tove puts in cinnamon."

"mmm"

"That's why I'm with Jaymes now. Some crazy guy decided I was, like, a sign or something, so I needed to die. And he kept sending all kinds of bugs after me to try and kill me."

"Shit...that's coldd blooded" Munch Munch "But I never saw any bugs after you"

"The Browns couldn't see them, because they're just people, and so it was safer for me to go there. Ain't nobody can see stuff unless you magic them up."

"But you aren't supposed to magic them up, even though they usually forget what the magic stuff is."

"Oh" A relieef "That explains a lot about waht I was told, that fae are ...confusing and unpredictable"

"Well, I dunno about that. Not all of us."

"I heard that Fiona took a werewolf as her lover, and there's a whole bunch of their children now as, like, a tribe?"

"Fiona of course, is an ancient Lady from back when magic was everywhere and everyone knew, unlike now where it's still everywhere, but on the down-low."

"Oh yeah" She nods " there's a tribe I mean.. And the Fianna know the most about Faeries. Your story would explain it. Rails is a Gnawer, bone Gnawwer, I'm probably going to end up with them. First dibs and shit, and apparetnly my bloodline is iffy" Insulted "So they take anyone. I'm like 'what the fuck? Don't do me no favors' and they're like 'youre gnawer material all right' like there's a joke there"

"He kinda seems like a dick."

"Whatever, you'll be awesome whichever tribe you get. I don't have to worry about picking houses, only some people get them."

"Little bit, but he's also kind of cool. I think it's the job, makes him on guard." She says "Houses? You got a house. Nice one. Seen it. Shit, you got a balcony. Wish I had a balcony. Give me some space from my brothers"

Sam glows a little. "Jaymes made it as a surprise. He's really great."

"Shit yeah, and the basketball set up outside is nice too." Cookie done

"Everything is gonna be official in April. And - since you're a werewolf, I can tell you, right? There's magic, and with magic, it gets to be real, not just paperwork."

"what gets to be real? " Confused

"The adoption." She nervously twists the hem of her coat in her hands. "He'll be my dad for real."

Lupita doesn't tell her she was already his daughter, or that she's being silly. Instead she gives a soft punch in Sam's arm "Fuckin awesome, Sam. You deserve it"

"This is the longest I've been in one place in... years. It's kinda scary."

"..... I'm real glad you get to stay while you're a fledge. Sometimes with us, we don't - like, well - I mean, they pulled me from the Browns, but sometimes it's more extreme. Out of school, away from birth families, everything."

"Yeah, the garou do that too sometimes. Can't believe I'm HAPPY to keep my brothers" An admission "but i am. glad you came into town. There's a severe shortage of badass cool girls at that school. I didn't want to carry the load alone"

A snort. "Oh, you'd do it. Way better than a half-gringa."

Bump with elbow "You do fine. Ohh.. you prefer Faerie or Faeor? I don't want to sound fucking homophobic you know?"

"So, werewolves call themselves garoo - for the record, I am not a fairy. I don't have wings, or pixie dust."

"Okay NOT a fairy, what then?"

"We're fae, and so it's... different, right?"

Gonzalez looks at Sam's back

"Fae, got it. It's cool. Just trying to imagine the wings. " A smirk

"I met one with wings, and hers are big bird wings, not butterfly ones."

"Cool."

"I think faeries are more like Nevers, who are like little tinkerbells. Most of us around here are more like... giants, sort of."

"No wonder all of you are so damn tall around here" She says "Oh wow. Yeah, even Sylvi. I was feeling like an imp . Hey, is May one of you guys after all?"

She laughs and shakes her head. "May is May."

"May's still cool" A nod

"Exactly."

"So Giants. Huh. that..explains my dreams"

"Oh?"

"I mean, we're good giants."

"I dreamed of you, but.. you were huge..Huge ER I mean..and you had like viking gear or something? And.... there was something about your skin but I can't remember"
