Frank starts to angle the truck slightly, seeking to not telegraph his move but also to take the other truck in more of a side-swipe than a head-on collision.

The road narrows and thins, turning into a bridge, a bridge with a Ravine below.. a Ravine with RAZORS! AND SPIKES! And .. and LAVA!

Frank angles as he gets to the point of no return, weaves, and side swipes! Even as he hits the Rubber Duck Button!

"Rubber Duck's got your back, and front and ..." a voice booms in game as Yellow bouncy material coats this war wagon...

"GET DOWN AND HOLD ON, SIV!!!"

that plus Frank's superlative skill, sends the Mean monster machine slinging to the side! Frank manages to keep the wheels ON THe bridge, even as tires squeel. The hellbeast 18 Wheeler (Which, you know, means it has Six, Plus Six, PLUS Six wheels) hwoever, does not, and goes screaming down into certain doom! A small mushroom cloud of green and red erupts and ....

They come to the gates of a Town? They open, and our heroes hear cheers and school bells ringing! "CONGRATULATIONS, Post Apocolyptic Trucker! Books Delivered!" and folks open the hatch, and books go flying out... kids that looked like Urchins from a Mad Max meets oliver twist set suddenly have glasses and little graduation caps!

Frank slumps over the wheel, sweat-soaked shirt sticking to him. He lifts his shaggy head. "SIV??"

"Hey, Dad..." His daughter has come into the cab, looking him over, "You okay? that was some top notch sailin..err trucking" SHe feels his head

He notices she's wounded, cut along her shoulder... she frowns as she sees his bruises from his scuffles

He nods and hugs her. "You ok?" He is checking her too, frowning at the cut.

"You should see the other guys," She grins, "Oh Da, I was great. Messy, but great you'd have been proud if you could have seen. Kept my feet paced like mom taught me and..."

A voice booms in game "There are more deliveries to be made! Food! Drink! Medicine! Would you like to Continue? Yes/No?"

Frank presses his handkerchief to her shoulder.

"NO." Firmly.

"Ye..awww..." Credits scroll by

and Frank and Siv find themselves back in the arcade , the credits playing on the game before them. Frank is covered in sweat, and has some bruises, and his daughter has a cut on the shoulder now bound in his hankerchef

"Sshh..." He makes a complicated encircling gesture around them, spinning them in place for good measure as he Veils them. "Avoid attention."

"I take it back, I think I want this game at the hold more than an X Box, think they'll sell it?"

She whispers the last

"If they do, you can buy it." He promises.

"Really? I thought you might take an axe to it" She smiles at him "Thanks, Dad. That was an adventure at last."

He rears his head back just a bit to look at her, then guides her out of the arcade under the Veil. "At last?"

"Well, since we got to Rivervale. Lessen you coun't the flood and.well, I should have told you, but that was for lives not for fun"

"I would not count the flood, no." Dryly. "You grew up, till now, with every day an adventure. I guess... it must be a little let-down."

"Yes, and no. I love you and mom, and that's worth all the dross ..pardon guess the saying is 'gold' here, to me. And everyone in the lodge is nice, like better than nice, even mr. olgar though he tries to hide it. But... lately I had the oddest thought."

"What's that, Fishie?" As he leads her out to the jeep.

"I wish I were a sidhe" A sigh

Frank stands there wide-eyed and staring. "You wish -What-???"

"I wish I were a sidhe. I don't mean bossing folks around, I'm fine being part of the crew as long as I get equal treasure and risk. And while the looks would be fun to drive lads mad with, ..ahem, It's not that either"

Frank sputters.

"You wish.... what? What is it then?"

"Dad, most of em are as vulnerable to banality as I am. Yet, Here am, knowing my true name, trained by two of the greatest heroes of the county, but Sidhe younger than me, and just as vulneranble, go on adventures all the time. Sir August ap Liam helped defeat a Hydra, and when he was about my age. And it wasn't just fae creatures, rumor has it he snuck into a hotel...with , you know, people? Count Hemlock, I Don't know the man but I can guess when he was a wilder had some adventures and they werent' all in the far dreaming neither. If I were a sidhe, folks would stop treating me like I need to be caged for my own good, they'd just say 'oh , that's how it is for that one- don't worry' and off I'd go with a life time of adventure and perfect hair days."

"Siv...." Frank leans lightly on the jeep. "... Sir August and Count Hemlock's... -hosts-.... were born here. They awoke -here.- They understand where the dangers are and how it work."

"Do they? You... mean, it's almost like they heard stories of concordia all their lives so when they got here they might find it all strange and new, but at least they'd be not totally caught off guard?"

He scowls. "Yes, that and more."

"Dad. Not to be rude, but you keep moving the land whenever I try to dock." A sour look, "One moment it's I'm too fragile, but sidhe younger than me are fighting off things in Autumn and Fae world alike."

"Then, it's I don't know enough, but you and mom have been teaching me all you can... even before I got here mind, and in the months after..."

"BUT..." She continues, on a roll "Let's not dare take me to REAL Schooll, where others learn, because back to the fragile bit."

"And now you tell me I don't understand the dangers and how it works despite the fact at this rate I either already do or never will. It makes me feel like a damn idiot. AM I really so inferior to a sidhe that having the same curse, I cannae cope where they can?"

"You're not inferior to -anyone.-" Firmly. He sighs, scrubbing at his hair. "Look... let's talk with your mother. This school year is a no-go, a non-starter. But... next year. After the summer." Reluctantly.

"Let's see how the summer goes."

A nod, "Yes, da" Trying not to sigh, and then she smiles, "We did have a grand time in the game. Dangerous as it was."

"Mm." He glances over the jeep at the mall and arcade. "Let me use your phone again? I want to let Brekke know about this."

"Thought they already did thanks to Sally Mae," SHe hands it over

"That we were going to investigate, yes, not what we found." He takes it and pokes carefully at it, then reports in.
