"Like the wasps. Or that dumb rabbit."

"Flopsy's not dumb. " She says "Bit smug maybe."

"A bear? Neat. Can I go see?"

"No."

"And, yes, Dagmar. Like the wasps and Flopsy."

"Yeah, smug."

"It was... kind of cool, actually. It just, like, did bear things and left us alone."

"I saw sharks and tentacled monsters.." Grumble munch munch

"Well, that was in the Dreaming, Siv." He tempers.

"And would have killed me"

"When could I go to the Dreaming?"

"Yes, they would have killed you, IF it could have gotten a hold of you."

"Well, you're just in the Near Dreaming now." Frank says mildly.

"I am?"

"Think about it; does the Lodge look this big from the outside?"

Considers, then shakes her head no.

Siv sighs but then smiles and does look about the lodge

"This is the only place I don't feel too big."

Frank nods. "Right. Now, don't try to explain it too much but... because this is a Freehold, the home of a Balefire, we're actually -just- inside the Dreaming."

"Kind of like being 'in the sea' when you're wading on the shore"

"Oh.... oh, cool."

"Exactly, Siv, very good. Then there's the Far Dreaming, and the Deep Dreaming."

Siv smiles at her dad's praise

"And then Arcadia, locked up?"

Frank nods.

"Is Thyle in the Far or the Deep?"

Frank rubs his chin. "Far Dreaming, I'd say. Most of physics seemed the same."

"So if I kept walking in the woods, I'd get to the wild parts?"

Frank shakes his head. "I don't think so. Now, people -have- reached further into the Near Dreaming around here, and maybe even the edges of the Far Dreaming but it's a constant struggle against Banality to do so."

"Oh..." a genial nod, accepting.

"Kennings your friend either way. Let's you see/feel/sense the presence and absence of glamour"

Frank nods his agreement.

"Like the... ok, I think I know what you mean. Like how the fire feels. Or other changelings."

"Exactly. You're a quick study! First time I felt the absence of glamour it startled me"

Then a look, "Sorry, Da, I know this is your business. "

"The cold parts." A grim nod.

Frank chuckles, at them both. "Yes. My House has an advantage there.

"Yeah?"

"Siv, it's not like I could -stop- you from helping to guide and give advice to your friends... I'll just ask that you be sure you -know- what you are talking about, or ask. No making it up."

"So much for the story about how tinfoil hats make you invisible to chimera"

"I think you're the Shuri."

"That would be awesome. Not sure I'm smart enough for that. but.. yeah"

"I bet Sylvi's the Nakia."

"Oh yeah. That fits her. So you want to be the General?"

Her mouth twists down and to the side. "Think I'm probably Killmonger."

Frank has the cautious look of a man who's listening to others speak in a foreign language.
