Tizzy looks worried too "If you're going to go, can I help?"

"I could try scrying, but hospitals are vexing...."

"Better to scry than go in there" Earl says. He can't help be protective, he's a troll in love "Zara, whatever is with him if heatherbalm could fix it he'd have resources. He may need a medical diagnosis"

Tizzy says "I could try to sneak in, I'm younger and more glamouros than Zara... I mean, she's so much older she's practically a grump"

"No, thou art not risking thyself."

"but the more I think about it, the more of a challenge it seems" The Eshu says recklessly. HEr kith has it's flaw too

"No."

She crosses her arms defensively and pouts "Fine."

"I want to go, too. I know."

"Maybe talk to your mother ? " Earl says "She's got to be worried in there"

"She is. She's cleaning EVERYTHING"

"She's worried, aye."

"Come on then, " Tziporah says to Zara, "Want me to call out and let he know you're here or you want to sneak int othe kitchen?"

"Call out, She needn't be surprised, just now."

She steps away from Zara, out of curtesy for sluagh hearing "Zara's here"

the kitchen sounds slow, then stop... "Zara? Oh.. I'm a mess. the place is a mess."

"It's fine" Tziporah says gently "She's coming in."

"Mama, it's fine."

Hannah comes out even as Zara is announced going in and hugs her daughter

"Oh baby, It was so strange... so ..." She tries to catch her breath "Your father just passed out"

"I came as soon as I heard, Mama."

"Oh I didn't want to worry you " Hannah admits

"Mama."

Her mother looks contrite "I know I know...but you do so many important things. Earl writes me letters about how hard you work at the library and how everyone calls you MISS Zara... and how even the Baroness there treats you with respect as does everyone. How important you are to Earth runes and sluagh in the area too and..." She stops looking past her daughter "Why is your boyfriend not wearing shoes?"

"Ah... I did say we left as soon as I heard..."

"Very sorry, ma'am. I didn't have time" Earl blushes

"Well, at least he's wearing the right socks" SHe chuckles, the kind of chuckle you need when everything else is so worrisome

Hannah nods , then says "Thank you for coming so quickly. Both of you" SHe moves to hug Earl as well "I was worried Tziporah would get some crazy idea to go the hospital and sneak around."

"Heeeeey" Tziporah says acting insulted

"Do you need to go to the hospital, Mama?"

"You are safe to be there..."

"I'll was waiting by the phone but if they didn't call in an hour was going to go. " She says "I didn't want to leave your sist... Tizzy unattended"

Zara nods. "But I am here, so neither of us are alone."

"And Earl, bless, is often sensible."

"It's a failing" Earl says deadpan

"Well, then I'll go now. Oh Zara, there's some pudding just your style in the back of the fridge if you like. I'll be wait there at the hospital. You're the woman of the house while I'm gone"

"Call us, aye?"

"Oh yes yes.. And a proper call, not that 'texting'"

She gives Zara and Tizzy hugs again and slips out to drive to the hospital

Zara exhales, trying not to twist up in anxiety.

Earl takes her hand "You kept up the brave face she needed, love."

"I need to know what happened."
