The ground ices over between her and the boar, turning it into a treacherous, slippery expanse.

The boar charges forward, unaware of the dangers, or uncaring!

She braces herself, Flyswatter raised and ready.

The speed of the boar is impressive, the grace, not so much, it hits the ice fast, then skitters and slides furious and angry not quite making it to her, but in fly swater's reach

A quick arc - she does not relish this, and would rather have this done quickly.

Not her best strike, a blow that should have killed it scuffs off a tusk on its face ring and wounds it. Just what she hoped to avoid. It manages to get off the ice and charges her anew

A grimace. "I'm sorry."

It's going to have to charge THROUGH Flyswatter, mind.

In theory, the axe-head portion should serve as enough of a crossbrace to stop it from going too far past the spearpoint...

It charges, sshe braces, but it twists as it moves more by dumb luck and manages to wound her leg as it breaks from the spear push attempted. It gets further wounded, and goes berserk!

The wound on her leg is barely a redmark, not enough to risk Gwydion fury, yet

She grits her teeth, and goes for a swing - maybe she can take out its forelegs, crippling it.

One leg flies crashing it to the ground as it is now a tripod

She strikes while it's down, going for a neat blow to the neck.

And it dies beheaded, a chimerical carcass

She exhales. "I'm sorry."

"you did what you could," A voice says behind her, the deep voice of Baron Snowmantle, Grump sidhe of Gwydion, "I saw you try for the quick kill"

"I don't like killing chimera at all."

"Well, " Snowmantle nods "Then I'm sorry. I should have gotten here sooner to do it myself. You're wounded," He looks to her ankle "Looks mild but if you want healing?"

She tests it. "I don't think it's so bad. If there's spare room at the fire tonight, that would be appreciated."

"Always for a House sister or one in need," the Baron nods "I know you don't like kiling Chimera, but you should put its body to use. I've always believed it wasteful not to use the whole of the creature if you can. "

Her brow furrows. "Think it'd be good for food? I would ask for the tusks - between Symon and Dirk, they'd be good gifts."

"It'd be FINE for food" he nods "YOu want us to cook it up for you at the lodge or somewhat?"

"That oughta feed most the household, yeah?"

A grin. "Fair trade for balefire healing."

"Ha, if you like, but the balefire was yours by right of Haven" He ponders "if you like, a leg of the pork COULD be donated or traded to the nunnehi. They'd give you fish for pork easy if you want both?"

"Good for relations, right? The politics thing?"

"An ally thing" Snowmantle assures, "And even a friend thing. When I was at my lowest, those good people helped me. I will not forget, but yes, politics can't be ignored. Gwydions are leaders and that means acting how you hope others will emulate. Honorable alliances are a big factor"

She nods. "I know Sylvi made lots of friends there."

"Young Sylvi was a delight, oh, she's little love for the system, but that just made me all the more grateful for her assistance. If you ever end up in a leadership position, don't surround yourself with yes men. They'll be blind eyes and little use to you or your people. Sylvi had opinions and insights I would not, and even if we disagreed, she made me think, which is a good thing even for a an old stubborn falcon like me"

"Pretty sure even eyas are stubborn."

Snowmantle helps field dress the boar then and there, perhaps forgetting Dagmar could lift the huge body

"Oh I was one so yes" Snowmantle smiles

She helps with the field dressing - it's enough work to go around, surely.

Theere iss, he looks surprised "I admit, I didn't know you would know how to do this. You didn't seem to like the hunt. Who taught you to dress a kill?"

"Well, she taught you well, cutting along the natural grain" Approval

"She's not much of a hunter, either, but she taught me a lot about how to survive in the wilderness. Olgar and Torvald, too."

"I have met Rover Olgar," Snowmantle says "Man is very proud of his daughter, and has also mentioned you. He says he forgives you for being Seelie. I assume there's humor intended."

"Plenty. I was Unseelie as a Fledge. For most of that year, at least."

"And it probably comes back to me easier than it should, for a Gwyd."

"Well, forgive me for being glad you're not an Iron Palidin contender" He smiles
