Between Dagmar and Sylvi, at least its' easy to reach the high shelves to clean.

The kitchen is also much smaller than the one at the Lodge, so the work is done in about half the time it takes to do a thorough clean-up.

And Dagmar is very good at cleaning, when she has a mind to.

(Her bedroom this past year being a bit chaotic, but it didn't overflow.)

It goes pretty quickly, and hopefully to the point where they'll get their deposit back. "How much more do you have to pack?"

"I think I got all of it..."

Two VERY full duffels sit on the stripped down mattress.

"Yeah, I think I'm pretty much done." Suitcases, boxes, milk crates...hopefully it'll all fit in her room at home.

"Hey, where does Maisie live? When she's not here, I mean?"

Squinty furrow.

"I don't know."

"You've got her on your phone, anyway."

"True."

A thought. "You could invite her to come visit Rivervale."

A flash of a smile. "I could."

"She'd like Goldfinch."

Sylvi smiles back as she wipes down the sink. "I bet she would. And she could meet the horses."

She closes her eyes. "Maybe I'll just spend all summer on horseback."

"That sounds amazing," Sylvi agrees.

"And maybe flying."

"Next summer, Spark will be grown enough to ride."

"Do you need to get him used to saddles ahead of then?"

She nods.

"And I'm gonna pony him this summer - tie a lead line to one of the adults and get him used to following."

"Hey, any help I can give with that, let me know."

"I might see about going to the farm?"

"You know the DeBukes better than I do..."

"A lot more room there to train and ride. And I bet Lanark would like to meet Spark."

"And less risk when flying. Fewer mortal eyes."

"Spark wants to meet everyone."

"We'll definitely go. Maybe not the first week. Need to get re-settled and stuff."

She takes a look around. "I think we're good. Ready to go?"

And the wrestling of duffels and suitcases and boxes begins.

(And soon enough, a return trip to Bergen is well underway. A stop will be made where they purchase snacks like an 8 year old handed a 50 dollar bill)
