"One time thing but it could lead to future offers is what I was told. Apparently they needed a keyboard player for an ice rink fast as the regular one got sick"

"An ice rink? That's... oh, I was about to say 'that's cool' which would just be so corny."

Snerk "Unlike Vali you at least wouldn't mean to pun on purpose"

"Yup. At least I stop myself! Hey, how's he doing with Mountain-ing?"

"Oh, you know for awhile he was swamped.... then he drafted me and da for help... we brought him breathing space. He's done much better since. " Then an asside "He'll never be as good as da mind you. I reserve the right to hold towards my totally biased view there"

She smiles. "Hey, I'm not going to argue. Uncle Frank did a great job. The Mountain's Mountain."

"yeah" a sad look then she says "Anyway, I still help out with Mountain Vali.. ugh talk about Punny names. Anyway... turns out I'm not bad at it, which blows my mind. But between it and other duties and my job I'm missing hitting out to sea and finding adventure"

"Yeah? Siv, you've gotta make time for that. It's kind of who you are."

"Sometimes who I am feels a wee bit selfish," She admits "I'm not a 13 year old mouthing off to her elders about how I need to be free and going for the drama. Exploring, seeing the world IS who I am but who I am doesn't contribute as much as...well, taking position where told"

A blink. "I'm going to try not to take that mouthing-off-to-elders comment too personally. Anyway...I kind of get what you mean, but...I mean, you have adventures when you're sailing. You help people, and you discover cool things. I mean...it's kind of like a water Rover?"

A chuckle " I was talking about ME, Rock Star. You were not the only dramaticly inclined early teen"

She ponders "Well, yes, I suppose I did help some folks while on the waves"

"Oh." A grin. "I didn't get to see that, so...."

A nod at the rest.

"Oh even when I came here I still had moments. Ask your mom about how I threw myself on the role of martyr once. " A pause "Hope it was just once." Then she shrugs "I AM looking forward to the Census. Part of it IS Chimera searching, and some of that will be in River or lake. Not as grand as the ocean but nice"

"Dagmar's gonna love counting the chimerical critters" She surmises

Sylvi frowns a bit. "I know it's supposed to be a census because...well, reasons...but I can't help but feel like maybe somebody high up is going to find a way to misuse the info to hurt somebody."

Siv ponders "I admit, the spy in me has me thinking intell gathering on this level may not be the small barony's friend, but defying it will reflect poorly on the Count and you know mom would never shirk her duty or shame him"

"No, of course not. Well...I'll do what I can. I guess recruiting the Goldfinch crew to get a headcount local to us wouldn't be too hard. It's never going to be completely accurate, though. Plenty of fae who do not want to be counted on a normal day."

"Oh god, don't put RIkki on the job or she'll turn supervillain on this"

A spare set of wings is brought to them on be half somewhat smitten guy who pays his compliments before heading out. Rather than a free drink at a bar, they each got another wing

"Well, THIS does my ego good" Siv admits and toasts Sylvi with her wing

Sylvi accepts the gift wings with a smile and returns the wing-toast. "I like this kind of tribute," she says with a wink.
