A bit later, while Dagmar is away, Zane arches a brow "Sylvi, I get the feeling you're trying to corner me alone. Everything okay?"

A grin. "I'm not exactly subtle, am I? Sorry. But yeah...I wanted to know...Colton's doing okay?"

"You still carrying a torch for him?" Curious

"Zane..." a chiding tone. "I made him promise me he'd give dating a serious try. Not keep sabotaging it, like it sounded he was doing. So...is he?"

Zane chuckles "how come I get the feeling if he was asking about Your dating life you'd find it intrusive? "

A shrug. "I didn't say I wasn't being intrusive. And you don't have to answer me. I'd respect that. But I don't think I'm going to get an accurate answer from him. I'm trusting that you'd have a....an objective opinion?"

He holds up hands in 'fair cop' gesture, "As a matter of fact, he's actually found a girl who has given him a THIRD Date , he'll be going on later this week"

A blink, and a complicated expression -- but it eventually resolves itself into a grin and a nod. "Good. I'm glad."

Zane's perceptive and he notices the shift, then gently "It's okay to feel...conflicted."

"Well, yeah. But feeling conflicted isn't exactly comfortable." Another shrug. "But I really am glad that it's working out for him."

"Well, she's a daughter of Eve, not a kithain or kinain even. They met at one of his inspirational work outs for the physically challenged? Liams, you know?"

A blink. "She's mortal? And physically challenged?" For some reason, this brings a soft grin to her features.

"Oh yeah. " He nods "I've only met her once, but she seems nice enough personality wise. On the looks scale? She's a redhead with green eyes, classic combo. "A whisper "Nice rack, not that i'd word it like that outloud"

She rolls her eyes. "Not helping with the feeling-conflicted thing."

"Sorry. Look, Sylvi, if you want me to tell you're a stone cold fox, fine, it's true. You're a babe. Even more dangerous, you know how to make the looks you have work for you. "

"All that, and brains, right?" she coaxes him.

He can't help but laugh, but it's a soft laugh, "Beauty , Brawn AAAANNNDD Brains. Sylvi, I'm a smart guy, I pride myself on it, but you've matched wit and will with me and symon alike and more than held your own and often been right. Yeah, you're smart. And that's both a turn on, and a little intimidating . A guy can't just be throwing you the 'same old same old' and act like he deserves a medal because you have a good bullshit detector."

She takes a deep breath and sighs, standing a little straighter. "I can't deny you're doing wonders for my ego. It's okay. I'm good." She grins. "But thanks."

"Seriously, it's like you've forgotten all the drooling i did but a few years ago. Tut Tut " A smile

A laugh. "Yeah, but we were kids back then."

"I did have a lot less willpower" He admits "Kelby might say I still don't...but then again I think she'd be insulted if I didn't get memorized a little"

"She would," Sylvi nods and smiles. "You're a good friend, Zane."

"I've been blessed with good friends most of my life, least I can do is be a good friend back. HEck, one time I drafted this troll girl to help my sister get her doll back from this crazy redcap. Lo and behold, they both became friends. WEird"

"Talk about formative moments, huh? For all of us."

"Sometimes I wonder if Da'an wasn't involved that day" He muses quite seriously

A wistful look "I do miss Adam though"

"It might have been. Then again, we were all fae from the same neighborhood anyway, so we were probably likely to hang out together eventually." Then a curious look. "Wow, I really haven't thought about him in a while. I hope he's doing okay."

"me too" a sigh "I scry now and then but glimpses at best. Nothing.. concrete" A smile does bloom though "And I wouldn't downplay how unlikely our friendships were. Most of us thought Dirk was a lost cause. You didn't"

A grin. "I'm glad I took a chance with him. He's a good guy, in his way."

"Yeah, who'd have thunk it?" Amazed "You and Dagmar both have a knack in your way. Hey, she's looking more confident of late. College good for both of you?"

And the two sit down to talk abit..sharing more notes and just.. talking
