Two female students shudder as the janitor stares at them , just long enough to make eye contact. "is he hitting on us? Oh god, what a creep"

but the janitor's looks aren't on the usual... locales. Rather he gazes at their throats, at their eyes, and oddly their ears...

it's wigging them out

and at the word creep he does not cringe, but tilts his head and goes "mmmmm" and continues to mop

He glances back over down the hall, where another freshman plucks at her hand me down clothes self consciously. Her, he does not creep out, but then, he's not trying to. He mops past her and whispers "Nice jacket. Vintage. They don't make them like that anymore"

She looks up, surprised, wondering if she's being teased again.

But the janitor looks utterly sincere, then whispers "There are those who think in order to stand tall, they must put others in a hole. Remember though, the underbelly is vulnerable. Bide your time, or better yet? Ignore them, and enjoy the privacy of kinder shadows"

"Um.." the guy IS a bit creepy but oddly the words do help "Thanks"

"please, don't mention it" the janitor moves on
