Trace is trying not to gape at the top of Sam's head. She just keeps going and going..

And the leash is handed over

He runs his fingers over it, checking for any tiny grey hairs. Is it the right weight for a small dog?

"I'm going to check back by the dumpster. I mean, if he's hungry..." She shrugs and heads that way.

"Did he bolt from the door?" She scans, looking for places a dog might like to hide.

It is, and yes

"I'll go with you" Jayce offers

"Near as we can tell he must have slipped out when we had a package brought in" trace says

Sylvi smiles and nods. "That's best. He might not come to me."

"Oh, dogs are sneaky like that."

Symon hands the leash back, and discreetly brushes the dog hair off his hands onto his shoulder. He whispers into his hand- and to the snake chimera curled around his neck- “Find?”

Trace seems a bit nervous at all these ... people helping. Distrustful like he wonders what their angle is, but for now he plays along

"Hopefully he's just hiding." A worried frown. "Frenchies are expensive..."

The chimera slides off the neck, licks the air near the leash, and zips off..towards the dumpster

Symon turns and goes that way without a word to the others.

Trace says 'Yeah, they're the most stolen dog in America." A scowl "If someone stole him I'll plant glass bits under their skin"

"People can be awful. Dumpster does seem a likely place to check, though."

"So maybe he's...oh!" she startles a bit as the chimera slips by her. Then a half laugh. "Tripped. I'm kind of a klutz."

It takes little time at all, espcially since Sylvi was already on the right path, for the chimera to find the dog... who apparently is pinned under some excess from the dumpster that fell. A LARGE Party Box of cardboard has fallen on Athos, and one can only see his paws as the box wiggles

“Sylvi?” Symon glances to her, and kneels ready to grab the dog if it darts out.

Symon gives no care to the alleyway dumpster muck.

(He JUST showered too…)

"Oh! Okay, yeah...hang on..." She gets around to the side to get the box.

"Jayce, you better call him."

"Oh hey, Athos you doorknob" Jayce calls

And Sylvi lifts the box.

Sam hangs back a step as the pair handles it.

The box goes 'ruf' kind of.. and darts into Sylvi's hands. Sylvi lifts the box, and she has a Frenchie under her. It bounces against her...

She catches at the dog, but it's a fumbling catch.

"Oh hey, thank you guys so much" Jayce says and offers his hands to pass the dog over

Trace mutters "We should have gotten a tarantuala"

Symon latches the leash back on as the dog is passed.

And Athos is back in Jayce's arms, and leashed.

"He probably needs a bath,"

Trace says "This is a job ..for Jayce" and starts to walk back to his place saying "Nicemeetingyouathanksforallthehelpbye"

"He's not a people person" Jayce apologizes for that

Brow.

"You guys know each other from high school?"

"Nice to meet you, Trace," Sylvi calls after him. Then she says to Jayce, "No worries. We know a few people like that." A grin.

Symon is frowning at Jayce. “Keep better watch over that thing. Could have gotten run over by the garbage truck.”

"Yeah, sorry," Jayce says this time to Symon as he cuddles the frenchie like a baby "Athos you scared me, man"

He lowers a hand for Quetz to slither back up his arm.

(Does Athos seem to be happy in Jayce's arms?)

"Glad he's safe." She mumbles.

"If you ever need help with him, Sam's our resident animal expert."
