"Honestly, once upon a time I wouldn't have believed it if you told me Siv was interested in being Mountain. Too many books, too much desk work, in addition to all the more active elements. But...I can see it now."

"Not sure how interested she is in it" He admits "Just saying she's very promising"

Dagmar may come in through the kitchen door to find Siv Eavesdropping

"Well, now I'm curious...how do you intend to coax her towards that promising role? Invite her to take it on, directly? Or some sort of clever Vali reverse psychology gig?"

"I figure I'd try the old frog boil technique" he says "You know, turn it up till one day she realizes she's actually doing the work at a hard boil"

"Sounds like you've already got a good start with that."

Siv, behind the door to the main room in the kitchen, makes a face

Dag folds her arms, watching silently until Siv notices.

The shadows must have tilted, because Siv seems to catch on, looks over and just a bit up, and flutters her eyelashes in a sign of absolute lack of remorse

"Well, I'm terribly interested in seeing how this ends up. I'll also keep us well-supplied in healing supplies for you if she isn't happy when she figures it out."

A snort as she shakes her head. The Gwydion walks right on past Siv, to head into the main room.

Kerri looks over at the kitchen door as Dagmar pushes through...and possibly catches a bit of Siv trying to be stealthy?

Yes to both, as Siv, while not as tall as some trolls, is just too big to hide when in a suddenly open door way

"A troll spy eavesdropping on me. Thea would chuckle at the Karma" Vali notes then says "And hi, Dagmar'

Kerri manages not to snicker at Siv, but instead focuses on greeting Dagmar. "Very good timing!"

Siv hmms "Well, you WERE a spy yerself, Uncle Vali. HELLO all" She says airily

"Drat, Vali," Kerri quips. "All our plotting to take over Concordia has been discovered! Foiled again!"

A soft snort, looking between Siv and the elders.

She shakes her head again and crosses over to the coffee.

Jo jo!

"Dame Dagmar, come sit a moment." She gestures at a nearby seat at the table. "You're welcome too, Siv, if you wish."

She stops, eyes widening. "...Okay?"

"Oh what they got planned for you" Siv says a touch melodramitcly to Dagmar, but gets herself a cup as well before taking a seat

"Tsk! Siv..." A disapproving look from Kerri, and then back to Dagmar. "Don't let her rattle you."

Kerri waits for Dagmar to be sitting before she begins. "I'll preface this by saying that everybody here knows just how much you enjoy change."

She sits, stiffly, with her hands pressed between her knees.

Kerri notes the posture, but knows that trying to reassure her before explaining the situation would be foolhardy. "So...the emissary position to Alaska is still definitely in the future, but a little further down the calendar, since Brekke and Frank are not currently there."

Siv takes her seat and takes a sip

Brow-furrow, nod.

"We're pretty sure you'd rather have your time there coincide with them being present. So...instead of Alaska, we're asking you to take on an emissary trip to a different location." She turns to Vali to share the details.

"Actually, it's still IN Alaska..." Vali says "But not right next to Starbear"

A little downward twitch at the corners of her mouth. "Oh. Okay."

"Baron Snowmantle suggested it, and was going to go himself for a visit. Glitterdwell, a large Gwydion hold in the heart of a gold rush town now deserted. He thought you might want to go there with him."

"What are the goals for that? For the Lodge?"

"Well, same as with most emissary trips: grow familiarity with possible allies, make connections, possible work out mutually beneficial arrangements of trade or training."

"A lot of Warrior training goes there, you should be able to hold your own. And while most are Gwydion sidhe, Gwydions of all sorts are there so you won't be the only troll"

A brow furrow and she nods. "Just seems... far away, and isolated." A pause. "Kinda figured Starbear was meant to be training wheels, actually, since Sylvi and then Chief and Frank are there..."

Kerri nods. "That was sort of the idea, but as we said, they won't be back there for...well, we're not sure how long."

A slow frown. "...Are they okay?"

Siv sips her coffee

"They're fine, as far as I've heard."

"Except they're gone, for nobody knows how long?"

Siv mmphs ("Welcome to the Mushroom farm")

"Siv, could you send your folks a text? Just a check-in?"

Siv looks dubious about something, then says "Is that a request from The Chief?" She inquires

Vali arches a brow at that

A surprised blink. "Well, it could be. Not sure why it needs to be."

Dag's jaw clenches, threatening to jut. "Siv, what's going on?"

"Because, " Siv explains "I suspect if they wanted me to know they'd have told me what they were up to in California AFTER a visit to Mexico. I suspect Jessica is involved, and Jessica doesn't want me in her biz.. and mom and da apparently didn't want me to know what they were up to either or they'd have texted me about it, a head's up. If the Chief requests, I can ask without feeling like I'm pushing on where I'm not wanted. If I do it on my own...well" A shrug "I am not griping, but I don't really want to be a pest for me own sake"

"How did you know where they were going in th4e first place then?" Vali asks "The SPymaster tell you?"
