It's before Yule, and the Storm and Mountain are busy...

the Yule lads are in town!

"He took some pots" Olgar whistles "Find him, Echo!" And gives chase

"Look to the West, you'll find the pots there" Vali says in tattle tale

And ends it as he refocuses on the next target

In the kitchen, Kerri exclaims, "But I know that Gerd just bought milk and yogurt yesterday!" She's busily rewashing some pots that seem to have...lick marks (ew) on them.

"That's the Yule Lads, they've manifiested" the Mountain says "The storm is getting your pots back"

"Oh, for the love of...."

She checks to make sure that the Cauldron remains unmolested.

"They're not going in the traditional order of days" he says "But that's not atypical"

"If we get them all over with at once, and then they're gone, I can deal with that," she grumbles. Scrub scrub scrub.

"Want me to call the peacemaker on this? I've already sent warning to some of the locals to watch their candles"

She sighs. "I don't want Dirk hurting them. The last thing we need is a pissed-off Grylla storming the barony. But if he can intimidate them a bit to discourage them, that would be appreciated."

"I'll let him know"

There is a scratch on the door, not quite a knock or a tap.

Symon awaits outside a moment before opening it.

"Symon? Come on in... "

He looks annoyed.

The sluagh slides in and gives Vali a nod. "Glad you're here. It saves me a trip. Things are... weird."

Kerri didn't hear Symon over the sound of the dishwater and scrub brush.

"Something get messed with or go missing?"

Also the fact that she's in the kitchen.

"Yes. All my goddamn..." He sighs and rephrases, "...all my provisions that Ann Marie had in stock for me. Every last tupperware. Even the stuff that was barely aged a day or two. Dirk got pissed at me - though he should have known I wouldn't take leftover spare ribs. Even if they WERE properly greened. Those require teeth to enjoy."

"How much do you know about the Yule lads?" He asks

He pauses, then rubs his temples. "Icelandic lore isn't my specialty... but they've received a resurgence in recent popular culture."

He then looks thoughtful, a glance going towards the kitchen where washing noises are heard. "I wonder."

Much scrubbing. So soap.

The smell of forceful cleaning reaches his nose.

Symon sneezes. It's one of those ones that would be called cute if you did't want to get stabbed. Like the sound a bunny might make, or rather not make.

"Have they been about?" He asks Vali, even though he thinks he knows the answer.

THe cauldron is... alright. Looks like there's saliva on the edeges

"OH yes, stole pots and more"

"GAH!" A frustrated exclamation, and the sound of cast iron being scrubbed with coarse salt (NO SOAP).

I wonder..." Symon muses, then continues. "The change in leadership. They've never hit in so much force... not in my time here. If I had to make a guess, they might be testing the waters to see what they can get away with."

"Here's my notes on them, name and otherwise" He offers it to Symon "We were going to ask Dirk to intiidate them to leave. We dont' want their mother to get angry"

A wince.

"Possible" He says "I'm a new Mountain, and it's possible they're taking advantage I'm no Frank King. He had half the trouble spirits intimidated"

"I had meant, the obvious." A glance towards the kitchen door. "But that probably doesn't help."

"There's generally two ways to get rid of them. Bribery, or threats. Well, three, but it may be too late for Warding to help if they're already here."

"It's possible, but I'm not ready to lock down any cause per se. So, you up to helping your brother spook them? A sluagh tradition if I hear right?"

"Were offerings left out for them here? I don't know if Anne Marie put any out. And if she did, Cleo might have tidied them away." He considers.

"No offerings, but that's MY slip"

"Who are you...." Kerri pokes her head out of the kitchen. She looks...well, rumpled is the word that probably jumps to mind first. "Ah, Symon." She lowers her volume a bit. "Trouble?"

"Yule Lads at again"

"Ignoring them might help, some say they thrive on attention." He has brought up his phone - KIDS THESE DAYS - and is zipping through pages.

"Oh, no. Symon, is Anne Marie okay?"

"Stole all Mom's leftovers. Dirk might be half on the rampage."

"Well, I'll work on the wards"

Symon might remember his mom has been kind of ...bored!
