"That's just it," The Dougal says "While her memory is wobbly, Jones believes that the humble knight wanted any debt passed onto Rivervale itself, from both of us and I too am indebted. You've given us a treasure that is being used to make even mortal houses in hours rather than weeks, and serves artfully for design. I need to offer my own services. I am an expert on building, maintaining, and restructuring freeholds, but architecture of any sort is my bailiwick. Now I wouldn't dream of recreating this place, it's too tied to the troll soul and it's wonderful. " And he means it "But I can do other things"

A small nod, tiny shrug. (Eiluned.)

An intake of breath. That sounds right. "I was on a quest for the Lodge, not for me. So - so, yeah. Yeah. The boon and the horn and whatever..." A wide eyed look at Kerri, ready to pass that buck.

Kerri blinks and looks to Dagmar for confirmation that the debts passed on to Rivervale.

"If you are certain...?"

"What am I gonna do with that treasure, or baronial boons?" She shrugs.

"Honestly, even the humble falcons are almost annoyingly chivalrous" Evaric sympathizes with the Chief, but smiles to show he means it kindly

"Such things might be of use in ways you can't yet imagine. But..." A glance at the walls of the Lodge. Temptation in her eyes.

She rubs the back of her neck. "Yeah, Sy would probably say the same. But I was on a quest for the Lodge, because of that locket."

"And I was the one that broke it, so, like, I shouldn't get too much benefit from my own absolution? I dunno."

The Eluned looks intrigued, "now there's a story, you broke a treasure? Oh my, no wonder you felt a need for absolution. "

"It was done for a good reason, to help another," Kerri says firmly.

A stubborn jaw jut and she nods. "I'd do it again."

The Dougal looks at the Chieftess, "As I said, I would be reluctant to change this place too much and lose it's troll nature but there are some minor adjustments. A cellar or under part for example, a new trod installed. Or I could rebuild a mortal building nearby. "

"I would agree with you. But..." she turns her attention to the Eiluned "...I do not think that story is one for sharing, forgive us."

"I'll try.. I may need a stronger drink" His house curse risking an eye twitch

Brogan gets him a stronger drink promptly

She looks to Dugald and nods. "There are two items I have in mind. A cellar is certainly one possibilty."

"And the other?" Dugald inquires

She pauses before elaborating. "We have a trod that's been a bit less reliable than usual. I'm not sure if you might be able to repair it? Or...revive it, I suppose?"

"Please, show it to me" He says

Kerri looks to both of them for a moment, then says, "Well, perhaps I should think on my options a bit more before pursuing one or the other."

The Eiluned sips his drink then says "Perhaps... I should step to another room for a time?" His purple eyes meeting Kerri's "It's understandbible if certain egresses are to be exposed that they're not just for anyone"

Perceptive fellow

"You want to meet the dogs?" She offers to Evaric.

"I would love to" he rises

A grateful look to both Evaric and Dagmar.

The Eiluned follows Dagmar "I actually like dogs, which is weird because my House is predominantly full of Cat persons"

"Makes sense. Sort of the sluagh of the noble houses."

Once the two have gone, Kerri turns back to Dugald. "Forgive me for that. He is right...it's a trod we don't advertise. But if you can promise discretion...?"

"You're not the first to make that comparison" he says as he follows

"The dogs are fae hounds, so they're smart as all get out." She grins. "I also think that Gwydion are the trolls, so I'm biased."

THAT actually makes the EIluned smile as they go to see the dogs.

She calls the dogs up, making introductions, and making sure Evaric presents himself correctly for inspection.

Dugald says "I am so sorry, sometimes I get so caught up in the craft I forget the political dangers of house intrigues and the like. Foolish of me, and at my age. Yes, I can promise discretion. " He nods

"Thank you. Here, this way..." she rises and moves to the narrow hallway that leads to the closet door to Fenix. "This one." ((Mr. D, I'm right that there were comments about it being unreliable recently?))

(Yup, working less)

(Inside) It takes Dugald a moment or two then says "A connection that willed this into being has been lost, and the trod is trying to relocate" He runs hands over it and looks surprised "That's quite the jump. Your husband is a rover yes? And skilled at Dreamcraft. I think he would be able to reset this often back to specs so to speak, but I can configure something less reliant on constant jury rigging. Tell me, is there a reason this is trying now to lock on to trods in Alaska now?"

(With Pups) Eddie sniffs the sidhe and gives him a dubious look, but bears with him . Echo , well, if Dagmar says he's okay, Echo thinks he's okay. Echo's always been a follower.

(With Pups) And Brown Dog and Twobit walk over. THIS causes Evaric to blink "I'm sorry, didn't expect a mongeral fae hound"

A grin and a nod. "I thought that might be part of it. Yes. One of Baroness Brekke's daughters is at the other end of this trod."

"Brown Dog is... well. Da'an does what it does."

(Inside) "I can fix it to Fenix. Do you want it to go to more than one location?"

A blink. "You can do that?"

(Inside)"I could have it so turning the knob left opens to one, and right to the other, or build another trod entry at another location. Now the Alaska location isn't preset so it might be only under certain times. Like only at Sunrise, or Only on a half moon. And it would be best if it went to a freehold so we'd want permission"

(Pups) "I see that. You know, if I werent' landless I might get a dog, may still anyway" The Baron of Eiluned admits "I hear you folks trade with that Silverwolf place . Do you reccomend their kennels?"

(pups) "Oh, without reservation. Echo's one of theirs - well, a mix of ours and theirs."

"Baron, if you could stabilize the trod to Fenix and take whatever steps are necessary to establish a trod to StarBear once permission is given, then I would consider that a fine boon."

(Inside) the Dougal smiles and offers his hand "WIth your husband's help we can get that done in record time. And.. yes, mum's the word"

She shakes his hand in a firm but not painful shake. "Thank you, Baron. I'll make sure Olgar gets in touch with you so you two can discuss details."
