Klump has since healed, and gone back to his anchor, but he has returned more often to the lodge of late or at least the back yard of it

And it might be noticed that , not blocking anything, a stone bench fit for trolls has been set up.

It does fit troll butts quite nicely.

And so, Dagmar is testing it. For security!

Klump inquires "Is is good?"

"Hey." A small smile and an upnod.

He looks pleased, "Excellent. I had hoped to repay you all for the care when the False Dirk and the treacherous corby attacked me. The stones were going to be broken up entirely so I brought them here and refasheioned them. I am not one for krofting, " He makes a face "But in this case, it was needful to shape them to sstrengthen them. Sir Vali says they are like if Stonehenge was flipped over to a love seat. I did not know then if that was a good thing or not"

"Vali meant it as a good thing."

"He is hard to understand for me sometimes," Klump admits "May I join you?"

She silently scoots over, making room.

And he sits and watches the same view as she does. It's rather lovely, the autumn leaves are glorious

She sits in companionable silence with the glome. This is nice.

It is. The heat of summer has bowed to the growing cool of autumn and withdrawn, the bright leaves have chosen to hold on , but will soon fall at a proper pace in a last dance to replenish the earth.

Olgar approaches, breaking the moment a bit "Bad time?" he asks both

"Hey."

"Hey, bad time?" He notices he's intruded

("Nah, we cool")

Mmm ("Good") Olgar grunts

KLump says "All is well with me now, thank you and I hope with you"

"Pretty good, thanks, Klump" The storm says "Dagmar, you're still a Bolt of the Storm, right? "

"...Unless you revoked it when Chief left?"

"Heck no. I'm not an idiot" Olgar says "Just making sure you get full recognition for the upcoming Pennons. It won't mean much to non trolls, but to trolls from ot her holds, this lets me list you as my right arm so we can have representation as 'Storm' in more than one event at the same time. I'm hoping you'll be willing to bear a mark of the Storm on the Joust for us. I can ride, but I'm not up to your level" He says this with no shame, just flat out fact "Figured I'd enter the Axe throwing contest at the same time you joust. I hate they made them at the same time, but that way the olde RV gets both done"

"A shame she cannot do both, " Klump says "She is a good... " He searches for the word "Yeeter"

Olgar fights a smile at that, but says "She is."

Snort!

"...you want me to do the joust?"

"I.. I mean, that makes sense. Just. Oh man, I guess I hadn't thought about it."

"I think you're our best jouster, so yes I'd like you to represent Rivervale in that, " He doesn't add she's the best jouster NOW, but Olgar doesn't have to, not when Brekke herself complimented the girl's growing skill and power in same, "Where as I've got a good chance at the Axe throw..heck, so does the Ironhawk" Naming her father "But he won't be competing"

Klump considers "I have seen this jousting, you are good at it."

"Why won't he?"

A modest shrug. "I was taught by the best."

Olgar says "He's your dad, and doesn't care about his personal glory when he could watch you instead. Doesn't want you to feel like he's not supportive"

Blink. (Oh!)

Her father's eyesight is great, makes him a pretty good yeeter too

Olgar nods "Shame too. He's probably JUST a notch better than I at the spear throw or axe toss."

"I could ask him..." Somewhat reluctantly.

Olgar says "Look, no shame if you want your dad watching you and supporting him, and the Barony WILL survive. Not like I am going to plan to lose right? But at the same time, you're the only one who probably COULD talk him into if you think he should compete. I'm not gonna hit you with the greater good thing or 'we all have to make sacrifices' BS. Pennons maybe a contest ,but it's also supposed to be FUN. So if you think you'd have more fun with your dad trying to scoop up a prize even if he misses your joust, tell him you think he should give a shot. If you will have more fun with him right by your mom cheering you on, go for that. Fathers are funny creatures, we really do aim to please, at least where family is concerned, so I bet he'd be okay with your preference"

She twists her fingers together. "I kinda want him to watch, yeah."

Olgar grins "Then watch he will. See if you can knock whoever Teaneck sends into Orbit while he does"

"I wonder what this does to The Tradition."

"Mountain Vali says if you defeat Baron Kealan or his champion, most folks will probably be upbeat and assume the tradition goes on to the next gen. If you lose, they'll panic about the upcoming famine and buy all the toilet paper and milk there is. No pressure" Deadpan

Klump's brow knits "I do not see a famine as likely regardless"

"Superstition is a funny thing even for us, Klump. Honestly I'm not worried about it"

"It's good to honor the idea, y'know?"

"Like.. luck. I mean, maybe dirty socks ain't actually lucky, but..."

"Oh I'm still wagering dross and booze on you, heck, Kerri has some great booze for the usual bet ready and already let the Baron know what we want if we win" A grin on Olgar "Might just make them throw in some cane sugar Dr. Pepper"

"...Y'know, I turn 21 next year."

Olgar blinks "Can't be. That would mean I'm old" Then he grins "Okay okay, so you do. "

"I mean, so does Sylvi."

"you're killing me" Olgar says to that
