"Need? It's the thrill" Yusaf grins "The passion of the chase!"

"The hunt!" Snarltooth grins

"Get to field test my gear" Skabby adds "And folks will pay for the left over parts for materials and dross."

Frank nods. "Then leave this land, and do not come back with the same purpose. This is known as the Barony of Rivervale. Remember it, and give it a wide berth."

"Oh" A realization crosses the face of the nocker "Rivervale? I get it" And ..with that, they head out.

Vali snorts as they go, "For sport. I'm going to get a cookie for the wolf."

"Oak and I will wait here."

"My thanks" The winged wolf croaks, "We skywolves are grateful for our allies. Please ...don't tell the others in my pack I took a ... a 'treat' like some dog"

Oak tries not to look offended at such belittlements of treats

"I saw no such thing." Frank responds, going to one knee. "Is there anything I may to do ease you?"

"You have aided me as if I were part of your pack and kept the alliance. That.. should be enough once I lick my wounds"

Vali comes out with a spring cookie, and says "Think of it as very chewy sweet prey."

"That does help" The skywolf admits, and gulps it down.

Oak watches enviously

Frank weaves his large fingers into Oak's fur; he'll get a treat, no worries.

The skywolf feels better "I maybe strong enough to go home now"

"Are you sure we can't offer you time by the balefire?" Vali says "Dame Dagmar would want us to offer and you ARE an ally."

"Come and warm yourself, take some of that strength home to your pack." Frank offers.

"You speak good words," The Sky wolf admits "I am called Windfang. Yes, but when I am ready to go, you must use your... thumbs, and release me."

Vali nods "Of course, we will not betray your trust in this, and our thumbs are ready to serve." he might be inwardly amused, but he says it with a somber tone.

Windfang nods and follows them.

Frank leads them all back, and uses his thumbs to let them in.

"Such amazing things, these thumbs" Windfang observes

"They do come in handy" Vali concedes, and prepares a throw rug by the fire

The wounds are better than they were, but a night here would do well. Oak looks at Frank, the question in his canine eyes clear. Does his master want him to guard the wolf, patrol, or be at ease?

"We're home, Oak. I think we can relax. If not here, where?"

With that, he wags and heads to the kitchen for that treat!

Vali smiles "I'm going to miss that dog"

"He doesn't have to go if he doesn't want to."

"Frank, that's your dog, more accurately, you're his troll. Come on, you'd miss him. "

Oak peeks his head out the kitchen door , and gives the big eyes. Treat?

Frank gets the hint and heads for the kitchen. "I would. But if he wanted to stay, I wouldn't force him to go."

"He won't want to stay," Vali is SURE of that "not if it means not seeing you more."

"Up to him." Treat accomplished, Frank returns.

Oak took the treat from Frank like a gent, waiting until it was offered, even willing to 'hoooold it' and taking it only till the word was given, but once he could, he happily crunched it, tail wagging with joy

"Dogs have no dignity" Windfang observes

OOC I mean, Frank would take a treat too....

Frank finds one of his favorite snacks also there in the kitchen. Nice.

And so he returns.

Vali says "Frank, those hunters... they seemed to know your rep as a ...trucker?"

A shrug. "Suppose so."

"I am all sorts of curious on what they heard of you. Any theories?"

"Not really. My knight errant days.... the heydays were long ago. Mostly I just do over the road, now. And not much longer, for that."

He nods "Fair. I know your knight errant days you don't talk about them much, but clearly some reps linger. Makes me wonder if Tweak still tells stories about you down in Mexico"

"Her business if she does." he doesn't seem bothered by it.

Oak curls up by Frank's feet

"Noted," He takes a drink and watches the fire.

Frank has settled on the floor in his usual spot against Brekke's chair; Oak's welcome to the foot space, or closer.
