"She is wise. But you see? If they are apart just a bit, there is a chance that the fussing will cease. Not a guarantee." She continues to hold Valr and rock gently as the baby finally decides that eyes closed is very nice right now.

Footsteps approaching, but they're clearly familiar to the dogs.

He nods, as Franki is held and he swings her just very lightly

Then looks up "Company. "

Brekke glances over as well, alert and wary until she recognizes the footsteps. A nod.

He puts Franki in the crib, and.. miracle of miracles, she stays asleep

Dag enters. She looks tired, and then a smattering of complex emotions when she spots the pair. "Chief. Mountain."

"Dame Dagmar," Brekke greets her with a nod. She rises and carefully puts Valr in the crib with his sister. "Are you well?"

"Dame Dagmar" Vali nods but is looking at her curiously as if trying to confirm something

"Um."

Brekke straightens and looks at her, concerned.

She swallows. "I'm glad you're both here. I came to talk to you."

Not quite a ping on "glad" but close.

A glance at the crib, and Brekke motions them both to a different table in the hall.

Vali follows "What did you want to see us about?"

"Is there a problem?"

Dag follows where led, nervously chewing on a knuckle.

"Yes, there's a problem and I'm worried it might turn into a bigger problem."

"I did it, it's my responsibility, and you should know." A steadying breath. "I broke a treasure. The treasure does - did? - belong to someone, so that might turn into an issue."

She quickly amends "I broke it on purpose, not by accident."

A frown. After a moment, she says, "Am I right that you had a reason to do so?"

"I believed so, yes."

"Ahhh" Vali nods "I see. Please, tell me what the object was doing?"

"It... was controlling emotions." She frowns. "Making hi-... the wearer... making the wearer feel in love with the treasure's owner. And I... " She frowns. "When I was trying to talk, to get through by talking, I watched it go off, watched it take over and change how he felt..."

Brekke frowns deeply. She clearly does not approve of this kind of treasure.

"I know it would have been better to try and figure out a way to get it taken off whole, but I... I didn't really give a fuck at the moment. I wanted it to stop."

"We weren't even sure if we could have gotten it off S-.. the wearer, willingly. He was really protective of it, before." She grimaces.

"Hm." A nod. She understands sudden action due to anger.

"Still. It is destroyed."

"Does the owner know?"

"Yeah. So, I know destroying a treasure is not good for the Dreaming, not protecting it right. And... the owner is... possibly another problem."

Vali lets the chief take lead, but look tempted to say something or ask something

"I don't know if she knows yet. She's not in town right now. But it was hers. He.. the Wearer says..." Her mouth works into several different shapes of frown. "He feels responsible for it, because it was broken under his watch. I said I am responsible. Either way, there's a chance of being in debt to the Owner because of my actions."

Brekke catches Vali's expression. "Mountain?"

"I absolutely, totally, one hundred percent am responsible for breaking it."

"what form was this treasure in? What was it?"

"A necklace."

"Tove says she gave it to you?"

"She did" He nods "But she did not tell me where it was from or who was wearing it or who broke it. She was quite tight lipped. And still wanted to make sure the harm it did was ... short lived. IT may not be. " he says "I did suspect you and Symon were involved. Guess I was right?"

"Um. Yeah. It was on Symon."

A brow, looking from Vali to Dagmar, puzzled. "Symon was the wearer," she says for verification.

"...yeah."

She still looks puzzled, but nods, accepting this.
