"Anything else, Mountain?" Squire Valter asks the younger grump.

"I think that's it, Squire," Vali replies, looking over the charts, "I really want to thank you by the way. At a time of birth, star charts are crucial, and having you survey for me in key points has been invaluable. "

"It is my duty" Squire Valter replies, "And you ordered me to."

"Yes, but I'm still grateful," The Mountain repeats.

Squire Valter tilts his head, "Odd."

Vali sighs, "Thanks given, that'll be all, Squire."

"Yes, Sir," Squire Valter salutes, and withdraws

Vali grumbles. He still has not gotten the hang of a grown ass squire who seems oblivious to a more casual style.

And elsewhere, Squire Valter allows him the smallest of smiles that no one, particularly not the Mountain, will see.
