After the tales of the trip have wound down, and after Brekke is satisfied that she has caught up on news of both Vali's and Kerri's families, the conversation lulls a bit. Brekke regards the balefire once again.

Currently out there, Squire Valter is on patrol, and gladly so. So there is no worries about resuming that duty soon.

Gerd comes in from the kitchen "Sylvi's gonna be sad she missed your return. How was Starbear?" She herself had also been there "The baron Snowmantle in good health?"

She likes that old Sam Elliot looking Gwyd

"Well, hopefully we will see Sylvi soon enough. Starbear stands strong, and the baron sends well wishes to all here. They are challenged as the world grows warmer, but they are strong."

"How have you been, Gerd?"

Gerd says "Actually... pretty good. I've been busy" A look to Kerri, and she remembers the confession she had about feeling useful here too "Emmisary work mixed with more Hearth related duties... and not just playing..." She tamps down on that last "I've been good, thank you"

Stompy boots on the porch.

"Playing?" A puzzled look.

Kerri grins and goes to open the door for Dagmar.

"Well, sometimes I feel a bit like a taxi cab and while that's on me for knowing flicker flash, it's nice to be useful HERE"

Gerd continues "I learned a LOT of new recipes"

"Hmm." A nod to Gerd. "It is a very useful cantrip, but it can be a burden, I imagine."

"I look forward to trying them."

"Hey." A smile at Kerri as she enters. She has a dusting of straw - someone went straight to see the horses after friday classes.

"Oh! Chief!"

Brekke sits in her seat by the Balefire, Frank nearby on the floor with the dogs.

Gerd smiles "Hey, Dagmar. Need something to drink?"

She gives Dagmar a grin and a pleased nod. "Greetings, Storm."

A rise of purple in her cheeks. "Um."

Vali hides a smile

"I hear you have done your duty well." The tone suggests that the words themselves may be an understatement.

"It was quiet, really."

Gerd gets Dagmar's favorite soda for her and brings it to her. "There you go."

"That is good. You did not incite chaos." A hint of humor.

Kerri clears her throat. "I fear the chaos comes from my part of things. There's a situation you need to know about, with the Cauldron...." And she explains the problem (but not who caused it) and the solution underway.

"We're thinking of sending Siv out sea fishing for the East part" Mountain Vali nods

"The whole Hearth staff have been working like demons to keep people fed,. Kerri says. A nod of appreciation to Gerd.

Brekke hears this initially with concern, but the solution seems well in hand. She nods at the idea of Siv handing the ocean-going portion of the task.

Gerd inclines her head "Sally Mae isn't here tonight. With her fellow."

A thoughtful nod, and another look at the Balefire. Then she looks to Vali. "Mountain, before I forget...please have Emissary Lucia go to Caer Falken to schedule a private meeting between myself and the Count. It is not urgent," she adds.

Vali nods, and turns to do just that at the desk

She looks at Dagmar once again. "Tell me of school."

Making a note of it

Brow furrow.

"Classes are going okay. My one professor is a satyr."

"Just-popped. I got Professor Wayburton to help, since there's no freehold there."

"New chrysalid?" She nods. "The professor should help her. Good thinking. He has odd ideas, but he will surely be able to assist if she is an academic."

"He's currently a guest in fact" Vali adds "He needed a bit of time by the fire, but now he's in the sauna"

"It seems good. And, like, Masey's a satyr, too."

A blink to Vali. "What happened to him?"

She glances to the sauna. One can almost read the thought-bubble: Please let him be wearing a robe when he comes out of there.

"Oh he's fine, he just spent some glamour showing her some cantrips and such..." Vali assures "He gave up his usual musing meetings to help us help the chrysliad so I approved it"

"Well, I am glad he came here, then. Dagmar, if you think it would help, you should invite the chrysalid to visit here."

"I think it might, yeah. There are a decent number of changelings around, but it's not the same as a freehold."

Vali ponders, then looks at Gerd, "Gerd, would you be willing..."

Gerd smiles "To flicker flash her here to save time if need be? Don't mind."

"The train isn't that bad..."

"If need be," Brekke repeats, giving Vali a look.

Vali seems to be unsure why he got the look, but doesn't ask
