The long awaited return of Brekke and Frank did not surprise anybody at the Lodge -- they alerted with a call when they were about four hours out from home, and the Hearth abruptly made sure all was ready and the various key players were aware.
They finally get back while October is still early -- pre-Pennons -- so the Samhain draw isn't strong yet. Still, there's an odd look in the Chieftain's eyes, and she pauses frequently as they unpack their gear from the Rig, taking in the sight of the Lodge and its surrounds. At one point Frank catches her eye, and she gives a slight grin and a nod. More of that married-brain communication -- they know what they know.
After the initial greetings and welcome-backs, and after the settling-in of their gear, Brekke settles in the seat by the Balefire, requesting that others give her a quiet moment. It's longer than a moment...but eventually the Chieftain takes a deep breath and turns her attention to hear the news of the Lodge (and to accept a mug of coffee from her trueheart). While news of certain events is concerning, it is clear that she is pleased with the way in which those in charge during her absence managed the work that was put to them.
