A knock on the door

The door opens, and the Chieftain looks out to see who knocks.

Gladiola is bloody and battered, her stone skin lightly cracked under her armor. "Your pardon, Chieftain. I humbly request a night by the fire"

Brekke's eyes widen in alarm, and she reaches out to steady the younger troll. "Come, come," she says, helping her to a seat by the fireside.

She actually soldiers well. She's a durable girl... "Thank you, Chieftain"

Once Gladiola is seated, Brekke holds both of her hands while quietly chanting something in a language that Gladiola suspects is some variety of Slavic tongue. A warm energy begins to spread up her arms and seeks out the various wounds.

A surprised breath of relief. It should be said that Ivan shook himself off, then followed in

"Better?"

"MUCH" She admits "That's some powerful heatherbalming, Chieftain. If I may say so. I hope I'm not bleeding on your furniture"

"It would not be the first blood shed upon it." She glances to see if Ivan needs any healing.

Ivan has been wiped down. There's a bandage about his leg. Apparently Gwen used it on him rather than herself

"How did this happen?" she asks as she helps remove the younger troll's armor.

It peels off "I suppose saying 'violently' would come across as glib. It would be an unworthy way to repay your healing. Baroness. It was a group of Kinain."

A slight snort at the attempt at humor, then a look of surprise. "Kinain? Where did this attack happen?"

"Behind your local mall. There is a gang of fae blooded youth who are taking advantage of a lack of corbies, and ...well, the fact they are not noticed. They have some fae gifts that make them more formidible than they would seem but they aren't true warriors, even at 6 to 1 odds"

Ivan's head shoots up and a bit of a grumble

"Pardon, Six to 2" She goes on "None of them are injured beyond aid or recovery, but they won't be able to mug anyone for awhile"

A narrow look, not at her, but at the situation. "I had not heard of such a group."

"If you have interrupted their attacks, you have done the Barony a service. I thank you."

"They were hiding from you" Gwen shrugs "From all trolls actually, and from Dirk. They're terrified of Dirk"

"I must alert Dirk, then. He will be gratified to hear this, and eager to reinforce their terror."

"Sure. I can leave what notes I remember of them if it helps " She offers

"That will certainly help." She checks to see whether the wounds are mostly healed or healing.

Mostly healed... some bruises

"It's okay. I'm tough" SHe says "And I confess I was worried you would be offended by my ... treatment of your local kinain"

"Hm. You will sleep by the fire tonight." Then a brow. "You saw a problem, and addressed it suitably, and then informed me. I have no argument with this."

A nod "Then thank you for the use of the fire for Ivan and myself. He's a good boy. He could have killed them... he didn't because I told him not to even though I was under attack. He trusted me to know best. He's a good boy"

Ivan wags at this. Given his size, there's no doubt, he could have killed even a kinain

Brekke looks to Ivan and gives him a solemn nod. "I agree. Ivan is a Very Good Boy."

He is most pleased.

And Signe? She is a good girl and does NOT get jealous.. okay, she doesnt act on it

"Rest," she says to both. "I will get you food and drink."

A reassuring pet for Signe. This is Ivan's moment, but she has her own deeds to be proud of.

Oh the Grimpaw is appeased

Soon there is food and drink for both the stone-skin and her beast, and Brekke sets up a strong cot and a good dog bed near the 'Fire.

And the two fall asleep , clearly needing to.

And the Chieftain? She has kinain to contemplate. And perhaps a few more questions, but clearly, their guest has done a service to her barony.
