Later, after getting the Silverwolf crew settled at the Lakehouse (she thinks) and having an interesting cooking lesson with Briar, Kerri takes a deep breath and gets into catching up on some of the regular routine of the Lodge. Of course, Brogan has been a wonderful help, but Sally Mae's absence is notable.

As if summoned, Sally Mae comes in. Her outfit is.. definitely not kitchen friendly

"Oh! You're here, excellent. I... " A blink as she notices the outfit. "Very professional. What have you been up to?"

"Well, working with Caesar's reality set up" She says "HE asked if I could sell a really nice house... you know that one on Martha? Edge of the barony? "

"I think so?"

"House from the twenties... lovely craftsman style for the period. Imagine my surprise when I found out the buyer was going to be Baron Aiden of Silverwolf."

She sets down a bottle of whiskey "Need to save that for my uncle"

Kerri has been half-listening as she continues her work, so it takes her a moment to register the entire sentence. When she does, she turns to look at the kinain. "I did not hear that clearly."

"Baron Aiden bought a house here ...damn the man's a good haggler. Thought I had him..." SHe says with an admiring hurumph "Dame Gladiola will be staying there for the summer"

Nope, still not completely processing. "Baron Aiden bought a house. Here." A pause. "Why?"

"In the short time, for Dame Gladiola's use. The Lake House should be free now." Wryly then "And they hinted as an investment for Connor"

"I see." A troubled expression. "Well...outside of the barony, at least."

Kerri certainly knows that that region is under the authority of.... (?)

"Well actually it might be in the barony depending on what part of the hosue your' in" SHe says "Kerri? You make this sound extra bad? "

"It's...unexpected. But Baron Aiden is not the way he used to be, so perhaps there's not quite so much reason to be concerned." A deep breath that she lets out slowly. "It feels like a move in some larger scheme."

"He's an ailil. I can say that Naddy was on the phone with him. Mmm she played dirty pool on doing things for family"

"How do you mean?"

"Well, turns out Connor maybe using it in the future... and Nadeen adds "One must sometimes look out for family, Miss DeBuke, even when they are far away."" a sigh "She went for my weak point. A father looking out for his son... blah blah.. darn it"

"Nadeen can be ruthless." But she says it with a grin.

"You're proud of her" A friendly accusation

"I suppose so. And pleased that she has found a good match. But..." she pauses and shakes her head again. "I hope this isn't a matter of Aiden trying to undermine the Chieftain's authority, somehow."

Sally Mae frowns "I never meant to be part of that. I don't think it's the case"

"The deal is complete?"

"Already processed" She says "Sorry, Kerri. "

"Well...." She returns to the kitchen chores. "It is what it is. We'll deal with it, whatever it turns out to be. It's okay, Sally Mae." A pause. "But perhaps I should give the news to the Chieftain."

"Of course" Sally Mae says "You know, I have avenues up north. If you want me to buy some property up there sometime I'll see what I can arrange. Even the score"

A surprised look, and then a laugh. "Not exactly something Olgar and I could afford, personally. But I'll make sure the Chieftain knows that's a notion."

"Oh my rental rates are reasonable" She says "Here, let me tell you more details... and where I got this whiskey"

And she relates in more detail
