Siv comes in, sighing. Her hair a bright pink

"Tiffany or Vali" SHe says, but at least april fool's is over

Brekke blinks at the new look. "That is...striking."

"I feel like a wish troll" Siv says "Mm COULD be Rikki's doing"

"It could at that. Have you attempted to counter it?"

"It's fading slow.. I could just cantrip it for a short time... oh well" Siv says "Mum, I've a message from Caer Falken?" She offers a scroll

"If it is fading on its own, let it do so. To try to rush it may have consequences." Then she sets down her mug and reaches to accept the scroll. "Thank you." She unrolls it and reads.

"I see the mustache came off" A smile

The scroll indicates that the Duke of Gardens is sending one of his most trusted Knights to take a census of Caer Falken and it's various baronies!

"Did it? Good." She probably sounds more relieved than she means to.

Her brow furrows. "A census. Interesting."

She reads on. Does the scroll require any preparation on her part?

Merely that she should be ready for a VIP in the next week or two. What order the fellow will be taking the baronies is unsure.

Siv is curious "Census? Wonder why"

Kerri has been tidying as Brekke relates the situation. "Do you think they'd prefer to be here in the Lodge, or in the lakehouse?"

"Well, the lake house is fit for a king.. no pun intended" Siv says "But I can clear up my old room ... I have the apartment, if he or she prefers to stay here"

A frown from Brekke as she considers the question. "I suppose we should prepare for either option."

"Siv," she continues, "do you mind doing so?"

"Not at all" She says "Kassidy and I can use the apartment with Piper out of town"

"Well," Kerri says, "that helps. Thank you, Siv."

"A census," Brekke muses. "Well, there are those of the Lodge...and of the apartments...and Goldfinch." Her brow furrows. "I will consult with the Mountain, make sure he has records in order."

Squire Valter enters in "The horses are fed, Chieftain."

A nod. "My thanks, Squire."

"Squire Valter, have you eaten?" Kerri offers.

"Happy to serve" He says, then to the Kerri "No, Dame Kerri I have not. " He sometimes calls her Dame instead of Hearth. He's working on it

Siv smirks a bit at 'Dame Kerri' knowing her Aunt is not always fond of the title

Kerri doesn't head to the kitchen, but instead gives him a look, but not an unkind one. A reminder.

Valter ponders then remembers "Ah, no I have not, Hearth. And I would welcome it, please"

A grin and a nod. "Good enough. Anybody else?"

"Not I, but thank you, Hearth," says Brekke, looking over the scroll again.

Siv still looks amused , "Well, if I promise not to bring up your knighthood could I have something sweet?"

A chuckle from Kerri. "Come help me, and you can have it with whipped cream on top."

Siv grins and darts after

And they are gone into the kitchen.

Brekke looks to Valter. "We are to expect a census taker soon, Squire."

"I see. Any particular cause or is this a regular event, Chieftain?"

"That...is an excellent question. And I do not have an answer."

His brow knits and he hmmms ("Interesting") Then "Regardless I'll take on whatever duties related to it you wish, Chieftain. Do you have some particular task for me in mind?"

She considers. "I may ask you to escort him or her for the duration of the visit."

"As you wish, Chieftain. I will be happy to do so. I am somewhat trained in such from my previous task"

"Mm." She nods. "I do not anticipate a problem. But I do not exactly understand the occasion for this," she indicates the scroll. "I may go to Caer Falken to ask for further information."

A nod "Would you require or wish escort for that?"

"It is not required, but come with me so you can hear what I hear about this."

He nods "Of course"

And they make plans for the trip
