When Frank looks around, Jo Jo is gone.

But a note lingers

And Vali is looking at it, "Frank?"

"Mm?" Frank steps out of the kitchen with a sandwich on a plate in hand.

"DId you know Jo Jo was sick? " he hands the note over to see

"Mm?" Frank frowns and comes over to look.

"Looks like Siv is questing to restore him" Vali sums up but of course let's frank look for himself.

Frank reads it, sighs, and hands it back. "Looks like."

"Looks like I'm down to you for my Pillar of the Mountain uses," he says "Wanted to ask you both about Carnival"

"And I don't mean disrespect by the 'down to you' just more advisors is better" He clarifies "It's possible the Count will be letting Carnival go local this year. So Rivervale will hold it. I know the Chief is dedicated, but she may not enjoy playing the fool."

"Olgar mentioned you wanted to talk about it. I think you should talk to Brekke."

"Brekke's not here." he points out "And you haven't heard what specifically I want your advice on yet. "

"The plan I have is, since I am now in a leadership position, Mountain no less, I qualify as a potential fool and or jester. I know the chief would if she had to, but I think this is a legitimate and respectable alternative. "

"True." Frank seems prepared to listen.

"I've said as much the same to her in my time."

"Good, that's what I need then, what did she say to you then? Did she go for it then?"

"She did not. She said it was -her- duty."

A frown "I suppose that nips this in the bud. Darn. It makes perfect sense to me that it could be any of the three's duty as well. Do you think she would tolerate a 'cojester'? "

Realization "And it's possible the bigger draw will be Goldfinch. I should contact Else and Sylvi"

"I think you should ask -her-." Frank repeats, not ungently.

"Trying to figure out first, if I'm on firm logical and ritualistic ground..w hich judging by your prior offer, I am in your view point." he looks over as if making sure "And to figure out how best to sway the Chief of that. You tried some ways , I can then try others. Hence why your experience and advice is useful, even though we both agree the Chief has the final say"

"BUt I will talk to her, Frank . I don't ask your advice with plans to ignore her. I respect her too much for that"

He assures Frank, but he is clearly mulling over ideas still

Frank nods understanding.

"The other thing for Carnival is traditionally costumes. the Hearth will handle the decore I'm sure. But costumes, masks, have a mystical angle of symbolism. Any thems you feel I should promote?"

"Hadn't really thought about it."

"Well, give it a think , if you would" A slight smile "Because right now I'm considering Viking outfits done wrong. Horns on helmets, bad swedish accents, the whole shebang"

Frank gives a small shrug "I will think on it, but you'd know better than I. I have not been keeping awareness of what the untitled in Bergan need for Carnival."

"I'm a knight too, but you bring up a point . ... wouldn't kill me to get untiled input. THanks Frank" He says

"Welcome. We're mostly common kith in Bergan, of course, but some of us commoners are technically ennobled, titled... "

"Quite a few. I guess I could get Olgar's opinion"

"Could do. Some at Goldfinch don't have titles. And there are others."

"I know, chief among them, no pun intended, Sylvi. I'll ask around. Anything you need me for Mountain duty wise?"

"Not that I know of."

"Okay, well, then I'll leave you be" he does give a concerned look at the note though "A quest for Jo Jo? Fiona will find things to do at the drop of a hat"

Frank sighs heavily. "Yes."

"Don't worry, Frank. She's a survivor. Though I predict when Theon hits his wilder years you're going to return that comment to me in one fashion or another"

"Probably."

"If he takes after his mother he's going to outsmart me" Resigned

"If we're lucky, our kids are smarter than we are." the grump points out.

"Good point" cheered "Thanks, Frank"

And he goes off to get his coffee, remembers jo jo isn't there, and sighs "Gonna be a long quest"

"You -can- make it yourself." he points out "Or hit the diner."

"I know I know and yes I can. Jo Jo spoiled me, what can I say?"

But he does prepare some "You want some?"

"No, late in the day for me."

"Thanks, though."

"Right, You hit the cider" A nod

"And welcome" Soon he's preparing coffee
