"Awww" She eyes the socks "A day early for you and I appreciate the bending of the rules for my birthday"

A big grin of wolf teeth

"Aye, but see - thou mayest always have the sea..."

"I love em" she says "Thank you, Zara. "

ANd then she looks over the books

A complete set of Horatio Hornblower novels!

"Oh," she says "I've read the first one on a tablet, but these are my very own... oh and the illustrations.."

Of course, Zara may have opinions of E reading

"Aye! From the 1937 edition..."

"Oh Zara, I'll treasure it. You know I will," She strokes it "Gonna have to have to find a special spot on my shelf space"

"Mmmph" Jonas observes

Something about someone's tendency to be less than organized

Siv shoots out her tongue at him, then craddles the books, "Can we get you some food? we always keep a bit of properly seasoned stuff, and Gerd makes sure our tea collection is top notch"

"Oh, Miss Gerd has developed a respectable palate for tea..."

"And I used to wonder why the DeBukes call you the Corruptor" Siv grins "Can I get you a cup?"

"Moi?" An innocent look.

"Tea would be delightful thank you."

Siv moves and sets up some cups...

Jonas arches a brow, "Didn't think you liked tea yourself, Siv."

"Oh, it's a mannerly thing, Jonas. Sluagh like it when other kith have tea as they believe it civilizes us," A look to Zara "Pardon me for generalizing"

"Well,,, you are not wrong."

Siv pours the tea, not as well as Gerd would, but passable, "Oh, happy Hannakah tomorrow for you by the way. Gonna be with family I imagine?"

"Aye. Tzipporah and Vashti will be joining us, and Miriam and Jacob too..."

A soft sigh.

"I love it when sis, mom, da and I can sit down, others as well is a bonus" Siv nods understandingly

"THanksgiving was grand" SHe says "oh, sec..." She moves to a part of the pantry, lifts a lid. And wrinkles her nose a bit.. but to Zara is smells heavenly

"Oooo..."

"Here we go... Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread... ah, a bit past it's prime for a troll but I think you'll love it" She sets it out, "the Hearth found out I wasn't good at cooking and hadn't had many hearth lessons at all because normally others love it, and she's tried to catch me up a wee bit."

"Well, Hearth is not for everyone."

"Though I am surprised to hear that towering boulder of Connor's knight apparently bakes..."

"Now she's a pillar of the mountain" Jonas sounds proud

Siv says "Oh Dagmar's really quite good! She makes some amazing fudge"

"That is a good fit for our Siv. She's going to lean Wildheart, I suspect."

Siv ..blushes "I.. I'm more of an explorer wanderer... "

The pull apart bread is delightfully tinged with just the right amount of mold, and the sugar has carmelized just right

"So was Emmitt. How else do you get weird knick-knacks and obscure contacts?"

Siv looks thoughtful at that, her brows knitting

"I suppose that's true" Siv agrees "And sis wandered as Nameless afore her taking Fenix"

"True."

Jonas arches a brow "Of course, this is your home port as you often point out, and rightly so. Maybe you'll see others are right that Mountain Vali trusts you in this."

Siv grumbles a bit "Pillar is fine. I dont' want the Mountain Job myself. Dad may want it back one day"

Siv says "Sorry, I'm being a poor hostess to someone who was kind enough to gift me. Do you like the bread? Need a napkin?"
