"Yeah" He agrees, "Good metaphor. " Jerant considers "Dagmar? I know it's your guys duty and all, but .. is there anyway I can repay you and Olgar for saving my ass? And the others here for all the kind stuff? "

"Well, we may be doing honor and duty and all that, but I also get feeling indebted. So... well, what do you do?"

"Well, like most satyrs, I like music, I sing and play some instruments. I write a little poetry. Others are better at all of them. I don't suppose you want a poem made?"

"Well, maybe you could do a song about what happened? Tove's a skald, too. Songs are important."

"A skald? that's kind of like a minstrel right?"

the door opens, and in comes Tove with a second bowl "Sorry, took a bit longer than I intended. Someone insisted on coming along"

Brown Dog lops in moving to Dagmar without much manners, just a lot of love

"Here you go, Jarlet" She offers it up

"THank you, Mrs. King" he says respectfully, perhaps trying to make up for confessing to Dagmar that he found her mom hot

"you're welcome" SHe says

"Skalds are more than minstrels. They're bards, and lorekeepers, and... uh... Mom?"

Brown Dog is greeted with an affectionate ear-scruff, of course.

"oh you're talking skalds. My father is one too. I think he's actually better than I am, at the lore especially" Tove smiles, even as BrownDog melts into the skrich tail thumping

Jerant sniffs the food, and digs in, "Oh my god this is good." Then he says "I was trying to repay Dagmar, she wants me to write a song about what happened. Then she mentioned her mom.. err you, sang and were a skald. I guess I better get working on that song"

"You write songs?" She asks

"Oh words are the easy part" Jarlet waves it off not realizing that mgiht sound arrogant

"I'd love to see it when you're done" TOve says, then looks to her daughter and grunts ("Good price to ask, Daughter mine")

"I mean, there might be some story left. Hard to be sure yet."

"But I guess that's why verses exist."

"I hope you like it" He says

Tove looks at Dagmar again "When you see him again, you'll probably want to assure Connor you're okay and he was a good squire even while stationed at home. He was kind of anxious"

"I think connor's the one who tackled her legs when we got back" Jerant observes

"He's a good kid."

Tove nods "yes, and he probably needs to hear that"

At this Jerant has gone back to savoring his soup "mmm this is so good. God I love spicy"

"mmm" Tove nods at jerant's taste choices ("I kind of like this one, Dagmar.")

"Tove does the BEST spicy stuff."

"You should try her fried chicken."

"I would love to" he says

"Well, " Tove looks at her daughter "Let me know when you'll want fried chiken and if you give me at least 4 hour warning, you'll get it, and we'll invite Jarlet"

"He's here for now, but not sure how long... Jarlet. where were you headed, anyways?"

"I just wanted to get on the Silver" he says embarrassed "I'd literally never been before. I just got sained a little while back and could finally go right? and... I was gonna take a tour, a trip sort of... first time on the silver ,a rover to guide me. " He shudders "May never get on it again now"

"Oh you poor young man" Tove says "You litterally just wanted to tour around the silver to see what it was like, and your first time THIS happens?"

"Like taking a cruise on the titanic's maiden voyage, isn't it?" he says glumly

"Yeah. That sucks, but it's also not... normal."

"I mean, trauma is trauma. You're going to have to deal with it, but satyrs... like... I think you'll be able to brave it again, in the future."

"I think you give me too much credit for guts" Jarlet says a bit pale

"Well, trods make travel easier, but they ARE dangerous, too. And you can road trip, or put a lot of glamour into flicker-flashing..."

"Wayfare... need to study that"

"Which does involved trods on the way, fair warning."

A groan from him

"I mean, thanks"

"Sorry dude."

"It's okay" he says "I just hoep they find the others.... or that the otherrs live. From what rover Olgar says they could be anywhere"

"At least thanks to the Rover and Balor, they have a chance" Tove says

"I .. hope so"

He says that worried

"Maybe Vali or someone can use soothsay?"

"I'm sure he's already working on it" A nod "the Lodge elders are hard at work" Tove continues

A slurp and then Jerant finishes "Sorry."
