A bit later that day (and certainly before Father's Day morning), Brekke seeks out Frank, hoping to meet him on his return from patrol.

It's early, but still warm in the coming dusk. Frank is dark shape coming up the path, Oak padding next to him.

She grins a bit. "Good patrol?"

Frank nods. "Quiet."

A nod. "Good. Now...tell me what happened regarding you and the Mountain? And the thallain?"

Frank sighs.

"Vali sent me to Teaneck to find a war hammer that was in the possession of Thaillain. I went, I found them, Oak and I destroyed them, save one who was still alive when Baron Kelean arrived. The Thallain also had a mortal, and planned to use him as a sacrifice to take control of the hammer. As we were in Teaneck, I offered Baron Kelean possess on the Thallain and hammer. I took the mortal, Father Pace, to the apartments here to rest and heal and disenchant." He describes where he left the priest "The Baron may be in touch with you regarding both hammer and mortal. Father Pace may be a Dreamer."

OOC please forgive mistakes there, player's fault. Adjust to reflect what really happened.

OOC: Well, Vali got the hammer

OOC: Later that is.

A nod, with some satisfaction at the description of thallain being destroyed. "That sounds well, and I will speak with the baron. But why the sigh?"

"It was not a particularly noteworthy effort. " Frank explains "And I suspect it may have been blown out of proportion in some minds. If I am wrong, I apologize."

"I do not request noteworthiness; I value effectiveness. You know this." She touches his arm.

His beard moves, and he takes the hand that touches him in his own.

"Have you been dwelling on this 'lack of noteworthiness'?" she asks quietly, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.

"No."

"Good, then." She nods.

"Shall we go in?"

"Yes." Another squeeze of his hand and a slight grin. Then she releases his hand, and they walk together towards the Lodge. A hint of a grin lingers around her eyes.

He glances at that, and his beard moves again of its own accord.

They walk to the Lodge.

"It is late. You will sleep in this morning." It is an instruction.

"I slept in this morning."

"Good. Then it will be no hardship to do so again."

"I'd rather be up and working." he says honestly.

"I think you will feel otherwise." That amusement near her eyes lingers.

"Why?"

A bemused brow. "I hope you will simply trust me on this." It is late, so when they go into the Lodge, Oak is told good night, and they go upstairs.

"I trust you." and he follows her.

And it is not quite dawn when they finally get to bed...so Siv will have the pleasure of waking up her father with breakfast in just a couple of hours.
