"Well..." Kerri pauses. "Part of me is being the mom, wanting better for my daughter than I had. But then again...they're both fae, which means they have to live in two worlds. That means seeking goals that give them the flexibility to do so. College can complicate that," she admits.

"Well, I'm going" Gerd says

Kerri grins. "Have you got one picked out?"

"I'll submit to more than one, but defiitely ttrying for Tulane University"

"Tulane? Nice. What's attracting you there, in particular?"

"Lousiana was home for a time" She says "And it's a good college. I had to run nfrrom there. I don't have to run anymore"

Siv says supportively "they'd be crazy not to take you if tha's what's best for you"

Kerri glances at Siv, then back to Gerd. "And fortunately, you're able to pop around and come back to visit fairly easily. But I think we should wait on asking Olgar to make any new trods for a bit. With Louisiana, we might end up inviting a hurricane."

"YIKES" Gerd smiles though "Fair point. "

A smile. "Should I put on some tea?" she offers.

"Uncle Olgar got it done though" Siv says "He's amazing at trodwork, even among rovers"

"He did," Kerri says with a mix of pride and frustration. "He's a madman, and a brilliant one at that, and he and our daughter'll give me a heart attack seven times over, but he'll get the job done."

Kerri sets up some tea for all of them to share while waiting to see what this bread-by-committee experiment may yield.

"you okay, Hearth?" erd says

A wry grin. "Yes. Just...it gets hard, after a while, watching the people you love go barrelling into danger over and over and over. But...it's what we do."

Siv says "i'm such a hypocrite about that" ablush

"Well, I suppose we all are, to one extent or another. Ladies, excuse me, I have to shift over the laundry."

"Of course" they say in sync

Kerri moves away to get some other chores done, running late today.

and as soon as she's gone, double down on easing her workload
