Olgar eyes Vali "Living kind of bold, beaumayn"

"I do not understand the reference," Brekke says.

"It's a movie."

"About a rather whacky race" Olgar says

"And this applies...because it is a race to find a location before the ember fades." She nods satisfaction. Kerri gives Olgar a bemused look.

Olgar says "yup.And.. Chief, you were right to ask us to keep our yaps shut. Because I'm puffing up and otherwise would spill to the neighborhood. "

"But he won't," Kerri assures, putting a hand on Olgar's arm. "Neither will I."

Brekke nods.

"Won't" true

"Then that is all, unless any have more to say?" Brekke offers.

Kerri shakes her head, but the squeeze she gives Olgar's arm tells him that she's likely to be nearly bubbly about this when they talk later.

Olgar squeezes back. She's not alone

"I think that's plenty to think on" Vali says

Brekke nods and looks to Frank to see if he has anything to add.

Frank shakes his head; nothing to add.

Brekke nods. "Then that is all. Thank you." And the meeting is dismissed.

Kerri gets up first. "I have reward cookies to deliver," she says, and gives Olgar another grin before vanishing into the kitchen.

Olgar takes a swig

A brief sound of amusement, and Brekke finishes her coffee.

Frank takes another sip of his cider.

Soon, Kerri can be heard outside delivering the payoff to the childlings.

Vali rises "Well this is exciting.. can't wait to see how folks react whenn it DOES get out"

"Yes," Brekke sighs. "I hope they react well."

"Vali," she says, an afterthought, "when I first spoke of the ember, you seemed to have some sort of recognition. Is this something you can say more about?"

"Vaguely yes. When I have a vision, the problem sometimes is the metaphorical images are TOO open. If I see images of a tree dropping an acorn, it could mean one of my students becomes a teacher, or I'm going to be a literal father, or.. maybe that a hold will help create another.. but it's a matter of hindsight"

"As much as foresight" He finnishes

She raises a brow, then nods. "Understood."

Then a look to Olgar. "Any news from the trods?"

"Yep. " Olgar says "Most of it good. Threats are down, folks feeling secure. Downnn side might be that folks are using OUR Trods to navigate Apples more. We're 'safe' annd that means more are zipping along than say 5 years ago"

"Hmm. Those trods are still secure, for now?"

"Yeah... I got good folk on it. " He nods "Includingg me. "

"Then I am confident," she nods.

"I'll keep you posted if it changes. "

She nods. Apparently this is a given.

"Nnow, you'll excuse me" Olgar rises "My wife and I are going to go jabber like proud parennts with each other"

A brief sound of amusement from the Chieftain. She also rises. "I must patrol." A look to Frank, a married-brain communication asking if he wishes to join her.

Vali says "I think I'll have a few drinks and see if I can steal a cookie while the Hearth is occupied"

Brekke glances at the plate of cookies still available on the table, and then back at him. "Surely, this will require all of your skills."

Frank nods and stands, finishing his cider to join Brekke.

"They taste better this way, Chief" Truth

"Understood," she says with a nod. Then she and Frank depart for patrol together.

Olgar heads off to chat with hsi wife.

Vali waits till they're all gone, then reaches for a cookie all sneaky like..

Oak gives a low growl as the blue hand gets near the plate

Vali blinks at the dog "oh COME ON, man"

Oak wags... Vali's not the funny one in the room Wag Wag!
